No posts from U.S. conservatives?
It seems like they wold much rather debate important topics like Sarah Palin's book signing than trivial issues like health care reform.

What can be said that hasn't already been said? This is a mistake. Already said that in other threads. Its going to bankrupt the US, sure thing. On the one hand Obama is warning that deficit spending could lead to a double dip recession, then he turns around and ask congress for precisely that deficit spending. So, what he is saying is, that he wants a double dip recession. And that its important for Americans to "know their place." Maybe I'm misreading the message, though its pretty hard to see read anthing else what with all the deficit spending the Dems are doing, and all the Bowing Obama is doing.

molenir: your concerns are warranted. All the so called lies like death panels and rationing is done at the VA where I worked and they do it in Japan, where my wife is a doctor. But let me say this, this is a mess for the public and most who want this assume it's going to give them free care - its not. Anyway, on the bright side, there should be an open market to get into which is kind of closed out now. I would also advise to any unmutalized medical insurance providers, especially those that are already on line as well as smaller regional players as what "should" happen is that now the gov will allow them to sell over state lines, which they have up till now blocked but accused the insurance companies of. On that note, I bet you will still not be able to cross state lines for a long time!

This is the most complicated piece of legislation ever devised that will not improve a thing. The insurance companies were on board the whole time so do you really believe the consumer will get a better deal? I think not. Also I don't believe for a moment that this will decrease the deficit, who di the accounting on that former Enron executives? There are a handful of simple measures that would address the biggest problems. Bar insurance companies from denying pre-existing conditions, make health insurance portable and allow people to buy over state lines. These measures are the most important the rest of it is a cobbled together mess that is certain to end in failure.

And unfortunately, those things aren't in it. They don't address tort reform, and simple things like selling insurance nationally instead of on a state to state basis is left out. All this is, nationalization of 1/4th of the US economy. So no, not a fan.
