I actually laughed out loud. I've heard many Rabbis make similar jokes and everyone laughs, he wasn't insulting Islamic values, and even if he was, a country trying to get into the European Union shouldn't be punishing people for that.

Wit, tolerance and critical thinking seem to be things that human beings have a really hard time holding on to.

All monotheisms wonder about the nature of their theme park in the sky or the place where the naughty ones go. They seem to be able to paint a better picture of the latter. As Sotilas pointed out, Judaism and Christianty don't generally believe in punishing people for wondering about this or even joking about it. Punishment for speculating about nonsense - depressing.

it is curious how so many people deliberately overlook that there is only one religion in the world which persecutes those born into it the way the mohammedism does.
