So do you separate the difference between nuclear power plants and nuclear bomb plants?
Since a byproduct of nuclear power plants is plutonium-239, which can be used to make nuclear bombs, they will need to be destroyed as well. I now look forward to your response bemoaning how Iran can't have nuclear power plants when other countries can. adaydream, do you ever wonder how in the world you came to defending the nuclear program of a fundamentalist Islamic holocaust-denying regime that exports terrorism through groups such as Hezbollah and Hamas? Has the hatred of your own country become that extreme?
Nah, I don't hate my country. I love my country. But just because I love it, doesn't mean I have to agree with individuals like yourself to be a Proud American.
I haven't heard much bemoaning about Pakistan having nuclear weapons and you've got Al-Quaeda beating down the doors of Pakistan's governmtne slowly, and they will have the Pakistani nukes in due time.
Yeah, I do think it's hypocritical. The IAEA has been telling the world that Iran's nuclear program is for energy and energy only. But as long as your simpleton leaders and some of mine keep telling us that Iran is working to develope nuclear weapons, that's no different than the lies that george bush told about Iraq and you bought that lie too?
I think that you need to start listening to new leaders, since the ones you're believing are lieing, again.
Yeah, I'm going to tell you that just because they have oil, that don't need nuclear power. Oh, maybe if Iran would sell petroleum to the United States, we might take out heads out of our butts as a nation.
Pssst, we won't be able to use Iraq to launch any attack against Iran. Iraq put a stop on that. :)
But I don't even know why I post to this garbage. We're tied down in Iraq and Afghanistan, can barely sign up enough recruits. Who's going to attack them for us?
From ISIS regarding the AIEA May 26th 2008 report:
The report, which shows continued non-compliance with these resolutions, includes two important findings. The first is that Iran is making significant progress on developing and operating its centrifuges. The second is Iran’s lack of cooperation with inspectors in addressing its alleged nuclear weapons-related work, which the IAEA calls a “matter of serious concern.”
Thanks for proving my point! I'll use this source from now on.
(Note: underlines between the words ISIS and Iran and IAEA and Report and 29May2008 have to be put in for the link to work. They disappear when posting for some reason)
You know, there is absolutely no way that Iran can ever prove that it does not have any nuclear weapons intentions.
Of course, some folks say that they can't prove it because it isn't true. They swear that Iran has these intentions.
Importantly, however, even if it were true that Iran had no nuclear weapons intentions, it could not prove it. It's like proving you're not a Communist.
I am more concerned that America sets itself up to be hated when it requires other nations to do things which a good number of people perceive to be unfair. Reagan was willing to trust but verify with the Evil Empire, which actually did possess nuclear weapons. Why would we not be willing to trust but verify with 1/3 of the Axis of Evil?
We can do without expressions such as "America-haters" which have no place in an exchange of views among mature readers.
Thanx Mod.
Just because I disagree with george bush's foreign policy doesn't make me an America-hater. It's called freedom of speach. But when I exercise it in a way that diesn't support your view, I'm or other Americans are heters of our country.
That is exactly the very same thing that warmongers were saying when george bush was pushing his lies and condi and dick cheney repeated over and over the lies. "Freedom Fries" not French fries, because France called bush's lies, exactly what they were, false claims.
Let's not forget pouring French wine down the gutters.
I didn't believe george bush's facts then and I actually don't believe then now. And even when you like showing your links Helter Skelter, I like mine better.
So just bewcause I don't like your politics, doesn't make me an America hater.
Hell I don't agree with all Barack Obama's views and I express them here. Because I don't agree with Barack, does that make me an America hater, also?
I believe that Iran should be allowed to build nuclear power plants, just like the US, China, England and even Japan.
And even when you like showing your links Helter Skelter, I like mine better.
I used your link and you still didn't like it! How do you expect to be taken seriously when you won't even accept your own sources if they don't agree with your politics?
The U.S. approach to North Korea has encouraged the Iranians to work faster than ever on their bomb programme, because the Iranians know that you get treated with some respect once you can prove your capability. I would be much more worried about the situation in Pakistan, a verified nuclear power, where a struggle is going on between very pro-islamist factions within the establishment and those who prefer to align themselves with western policy objectives. But they're our "allies" so everything's OK...right?
Helter Skelter - you simply couldn't be more wrong. You promote gross double standards in foreign policy and then wonder, wide-eyed, why these people "hate" America for it. You support the kind of actions that will strengthen the current regime in Iran, rather than assist the opposition. You agree with Israel having nuclear weapons and then show surprise that its enemies want them too.
The trust that you place in the intelligence agencies (remember the WMDs, remember all those bombed weddings?) to correctly indetify targets for the unprovoked attack that you propose is almost charming in its naievete.
The rest of us live in the real world. America is being eclipsed because it has made itself dependent on supplies of oil that ultimately it cannot control. That's why you are fighting a battle that ultimately you will lose without a huge change of direction under whoever replaces Bush the Lesser

There should be. They never should have been allowed to have them. Certainly don't want to make that mistake again with Iran, wouldn't you agree?
No they haven't. In fact, this worthless institution has said they can't be sure whether Iran is developing nuclear weapons or not .
SezWho2 at 05:54 PM JST - 23rd July
Oddly enough that is the same conclusion reached by the CIA.
