What a mess. The only outcome I can see to this folly is the US leaving to be replaced by initially an "independent" government heavily influenced by the Taliban. Within a couple of years of the US departing the Taliban will be running the place no matter what name they go under. The american people will have no stomach for further intervention if it means more lives lost to ensure that girls go to school and women don't have to wear a burqa. It has alll been for nothing.

How long has the U.S. been 'training' the Afghan forces to take over? Like 9 years or something. I think the mission has failed. If you haven't trained them by now.............................

Just leave this hellhole. It will eventually revert to its natural state of being a tribal, feudal and religiously fanatical place.

My city has just lost 3rd soldier today since 2 weeks ago.
I have not forgotten who sent American soldiers there. Yanks come home! Sooner the better.
We have been spending 2 billion dollars a week and the situation is getting worse. Romney's plan for withdrawal from Afganistan is same as Obama's, and no new solutiuons.
Again, Obama. inherited this war from Bush and GOP, and he is doing the best he can now. Yanks come home!!

All those responsible for this debacle should be locked up for life, from the politicians right on down to the soldiers who followed them and made it possible. They bankrupted us and they were all derelict of duty.
