Despite the flashing, Rolf, we can't tell what it is yet.

These cases are farcical. How can they prove an indecent assault that allegedly happened more than 25 years ago? And what are these "indecent images" allegedly made last year?

so sad. another childhood memory tarnished. Adds a whole new slant to his hit "Two Little boys". As for "Tie me Kangaroo Down", I shudder to think. Yes, we don't have the whole picture yet, but I just don't want to guess what it might be any more.

J-gals are just like Brit-gals, right?

Agree 100%. Child abuse is a horrible crime with horrendous consequences for the victims, but nobody should be convicted of any crime just on the basis of an accuser's testimony.

I'm not laughing. Do you live in some sort of alternative universe where underage sexual assault victims don't tend to spend years struggling with guilt and shame, believing that no-one will take their accusations seriously? The quality of the evidence will be judged by a court of law. You have not seen the evidence, therefore you are in no position to judge its sufficiency.

Triumvere: It all seems like a witch hunt to me and I don't know that there is any substantive evidence. I believe this case will turn out just like the Michael Le Vell case a few weeks ago. We shall see.

It's that "middle leg" of his that got him into all this trouble.

@Triumvere

How the hell can anyone be expected to recall the events of twenty-five years ago with any accuracy, especially if they were a child at the time?

The whole case is ridiculous, whether or not he's guilty.

You have an important point here, but so do I: it's the prosecutors and the trial court that will make these evaluations. You don't know what the evidence is. Let the court do its job.

It's a witch hunt ti appease the public,Jim Davidson said that at the time and the arrested him regarding similar stuff in the 80's and the charges were dropped. This is all due to the public disgust re Savile.

There is no investigation into the following; Savile spent Xmas at Checkers with Blair and Thatcher. Savile was the mediator between Prince Charles and Diana regarding their marriage and boasted publicly of being a fixer for the Royals who could "get them things". What i am stating is all open and the public can view these facts that are suddenly ignored by the media and police.

I just don't believe that, twenty-five years after any event, a witness can be considered reliable. Sure, the jury will reach a decision, but I can't help thinking it's a decision based on shaky evidence .... whichever way they decide.

@lucabrasi,

You're essentially advocating for a more stringent statute of limitations. There are definite positives - and negatives - to that approach.
