Wednesday, the rock band said they have not given permission to the Trump campaign to use their songs and “have requested that they cease all use immediately.”

Trump, thief, liar, bigot.

Funny, Keith Richards threatened to beat the GOP/Tea bigot when Trump violated the Stones contract that forbade Trump from entering a Stones concert. See: Richards threatens Trump Trespass.

Another Hollywood liberal to issue the threat of violence, from the group that claims its tolerant. Richards should be careful about threatening people, the man is too fragile, might break his wrist or worse.

"Another Hollywood liberal" - comment refering to Keith Richards

Richards is English. Journalists do a better job than Trump bigots on facts.

Example from the article" "Adele and Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler both asked the candidate to stop using their recorded songs to fire up crowds. Neil Young also objected when the real estate mogul used “Rockin’ in the Free World” during his campaign kickoff announcement last year. In those cases, the Trump campaign stopped using the songs."

That is quite debatable.

Why on Earth would Trump even want to use these losers songs? A waste of time and totally unnecessary dealing with these liberal moon bats.

Trump sounds a bit liberal with the law.

Well done to those musicians for distancing themselves from the kind of rubbish you find at a Trump rally.

There are some white, rightwing musicians who might oblige, aren't there? Is Ted Nugent still around?

Poor Donald, let's hope he isn't 'waiting on a friend' too long.

You know it's election season when GOP campaign staffers have to spend their precious time searching for some background music that won't get shot down. May I suggest using music that came out at least 75 years ago and is in the public domain--nothing wrong with a little Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, or Louis Armstrong. For a bonus, it will add a classy veneer.

(C) or C In a circle protect copyrighted products. It has nothing to domwith liberal or conservative. Just business to protect their created product, Trump did is copyright infringement. Lucky Rolling stone hasn't sued for many billion dollars,

On a technical point, 'rights' are what Trump has violated his entire campaign. Civil and Moral.

The Stones have designed their rights to exclude Trump long before their current injunction. (see: Stones Boot Trump at Trump Atlantic City Venue)

More importantly, Trump has violated the Codes & Statutes of New York on fraud leading to a class action suit for damages of $40 million. Trump will be forced to answer these charges this Spring according to the demands of the New York Supreme Court.

Donald J. Trump, serial thief, liar, bogot has detonated his brand to bring racism back to America.

That's the export Trump is selling to the world.

No one in Western democracies will work with Trump.

Macy's dropped his line of Chinese made goods after Trump attacked the People of Mexico.

Time for Americans to drop the mic on Trump.

I luv me some Stones. But Hey, gota respect their wishes. If they didn't give Trump permission, then he can't use their songs.

There are a few Stones songs which degrade women. Glad Trump never used any of those, he would've caught even more flak. This thread would be bursting.

He used RS music to his campaign, not just personal entertainment only. When (C)is displayed on your cd music, he can not play publicly. He is from entertainment coeld so he violated copyright protection's international agreement. You can protect your any creation,, too. Just put (c) He probably thought RS thinks he is advertising?

Would start with 'eye of the tiger' and leave the stage with benny hill theme song.

Not so subliminal message: 'am strong but reckon we will have a good laugh if i get the job'.

I say, Trump should blow them off, forget about using these idiots music and find other musicians that have more common sense.... Well, nowadays, there aren't too many that do.

The Stones and Neil Young have better songs.

I think that's a personal subjective opinion.

In any case, it's now a traditional part of every campaign for Republican squares to annoy artists who loathe what they stand for by playing their music.

And he shouldn't give a fig what they think, a lot of these guys are old has been themselves.

They also can't read past a title, or listen past a hook, and use thematically inappropriate material like Rockin' in the Free World or Born in the USA. Apparently they realize it's impossible to be too dumb for their audience.

What gets me is, these nut jobs are preaching for diversity and free speech, but when it comes to conservativsm, they limit that. Hypocrites! Trump is better off without these fools.

Not letting someone use their music without permission makes them hypocritical?

No, if their intentions are solely based on that particular point.

It is only you who frames it as a free speech issue.

No, it's usually liberals that enjoy and protest that free speech is a sacred and valued right we all need to abide and adhere to, provided it's ONLY for life bernal causes, then it's not free speech anymore. Sure, it's their right, but I'm not at all surprised by the hypocrisy.

It is in fact a permission issue. There is a double problem when someone uses the music without permission: first, they just took it and used it as backing music for a political campaign, which is rude.

The Clinton's did it with Fleetwood Macs-"Don't Stop" not a word, but that's ok, right? And there were others. Listen, if these cowards would say, I'm bias and I don't support conservative causes, more power to them and I would respect them, but to call it a permission issue stinks of pure BS! Again, this is another reason why people like Trump, the man like him or not, is not going to be PC because it fits a certain agenda for the day compared to how Dems use it.

Second, people hearing the music are likely to assume that the artists know their music is being used, and approve of it, and presumably approve of the campaign itself.

I know all too well, this is something that goes back a long, long time and is nothing new to the industry.

When that is not the case, it practically obliges an artist to oppose the use of their music without permission, and free speech doesn't even enter the equation.

Like I said, I hate when these nut wing artists use the permission issue as a scapegoat instead of telling the honest truth. But this is so typical of Hollyweird.

Hey, Bass, you could play. Then again, I'm not sure the 'funk' bit would go down well among certain members of a Trump rally. You could call your band the ROFLing Benghazis. You'd go down a storm.

Surely you can understand a band like the Stones wanting to disassociate themselves from Trump. Mick, Keith, Ron and Charlie are not stupid men. I'm sure they'd regard Trump's message as something to scrape off their shoes.

Great band. Clever men.

I think so!

Surely you can understand a band like the Stones wanting to disassociate themselves from Trump.

Actually, I'm wondering why Trump would want to even use a song from mediocre band that's become for the most part these last 20 years irrelevant.

Mick, Keith, Ron and Charlie are not stupid men.

And neither is Trump.

->I'm sure they'd regard Trump's message as something to scrape off their shoes.

I'm sure Trump feels likewise.

Great band. Clever men.

Some people thought Tiny Tim was great as well.

This blather has nothing to do with a political candidate using someone's music without permission.

Oh, on the contrary, it sure does. Liberal politicians have been doing it more so for years and never an outcry, the moment a conservative uses it, they wig out. Boldface liberal hypocrisy at its worst!

Not with me it isn't. I think all candidates should get permission from the artist - not the record company - in their campaigns, and if they consistently get knocked back because the musicians don't want to be associated with them, tough shit.

If all politicians are treated equally, then I agree with you, but that's not the case, once again.

In Clinton's case, Rolling Stone reports Mick Fleetwood as saying that they weren't asked for permission but didn't object. I still say it's rude and obnoxious to grab someone's music and use it this way.

True, but we should hold the same standards and apply them equally to everyone, regardless of party affiliation.

I'm not going to pick over every single case, but Neil Young put out a statement that told the honest truth about what he thought of Trump using his music.

Another irrelevant musician and Young is the poster child of being a partisan. That's his opinion, but fair, the man is not. Never was.

"Donald Trump was not authorized to use 'Rockin' in the Free World' in his presidential candidacy announcement. Neil Young, a Canadian citizen, is a supporter of Bernie Sanders for President of the United States of America."

Canadian, so then we really shouldn't care what a foreigner thinks since he can't vote in the US, even if loves and is for income redistribution.

So what's the honest truth you're supposedly looking for? He said he didn't give permission (true), and that he does support Sanders (true). That means he doesn't support Trump and does object to having his music used by Trump. An admirably concise and honest statement.

And I don't know what posed his camp of thinking of even wanting Young's music. I think he would be better in the long run anyway.

Trump can get some satisfaction if he switches to BABYMETAL.
