Both Romney's and Santorum's attack ads are shameful.
Doesn't matter much though, because neither candidate can beat the charismatic Barack Obama.

Which or these 2 guys is going go be offered up as the sacrificial lamb for ritual slaying by the Democrats this November?
I'm guessing it'll be Rick.
Because God speaks to Rick and tells him that president Obama doesn't have the "right" worldview.
God also apparently tells Rick that women in America don't deserve to use birth control or have access to pre-natal screening or abortion services.
Rick Santorum: The Chosen One.

Republicans are playing for the senate anyway and there's a strong chance they'll get it. They just want a candidate that won't drag the party down, I think Romney will end up as the nominee.
While I wouldn't want to discount the possibility of Romney winning, at this point in time I think an Obama re-election is likely but that republicans will maintain control of the house and win control of the senate. The presidency doesn't matter much anyway, Obama continued Bush policies and if Romney were elected he'd continue the same.
The only candidate that would actually stir things up would be Ron Paul. But unless the world has suddenly into a happy fantasy place where I get to smoke in my office and I never have to take another train again I doubt that's going to happen.
Of course if gas gets high enough or the white house finds another fun new way to look incompetent I guess anything's possible.

The best thing the GOP could do right now is to fold, ie: declare the Party no longer exists, then to re-constitute itself with a platform that specifically excludes any religion-based politics and focuses on the economy, foreign policy, and so on.
Santorum is clearly no Republican, but an extremist, a totalitarian and fundamentalist Catholic who should be running for president of Iran or Saudi Arabia--not America.

And the only reason he is in the limelight right now is thanks to the Tea Partiers and all the commotion they made a couple years ago. They essentially exiled all the reasonable republicans from government. None of those teabaggers will ever, ever be a legitimate contender for the presidency.

Yes, folks, if Rick Santorum becomes president, he will single-handedly change all the laws regarding birth control and abortion, and force all Americans to abide by his personal views, ha ha, too funny.
"Santorum... should be running for president of Iran or Saudi Arabia"
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

Which supports my view that the Tea Party has basically shafted the GOP's chances of winning.
Even Meghan McCain knows Santorum is a joke and stands no chance against President Obama.
"Santorum is on every level an unelectable candidate," she said. "I think for anyone the end goal should be beating President Obama. And if you want to put Santorum up against President Obama, I always say it's going to be an absolute bloodbath during the election cycle."
McCain has previously attacked Santorum over his opposition to gay marriage, calling his views "dated" and "gross." Again she predicted his demise in a general election match up against Obama.
"I guarantee he will lose," she said.
Must be tough when even your own team thinks the oppostion will win. :-)

Amazingly, Meghan McCain also said: "I think a lot of Democrats are just sitting back and laughing with popcorn at the cannibalizing that's going on right now. And I think it's unfair to Mitt Romney, and he [Gingrich] should be honorable, and I think he should bow out with grace, which probably won't happen."
LOL!! She needs to get a job as a Democratic party strategist. :-)

I would guess that she does not feel the same about Romney. You are acting like it has been decided already.

She's got a short memory if she's for Obama on this issue.
"I’ve stated my opposition to this. I think it’s unnecessary," Obama told MTV. "I believe marriage is between a man and a woman. I am not in favor of gay marriage.

Just been reading if Santorum wins Michigan next week and becomes frontrunner it might lead to a brokered GOP convention where all the existing losers who have spent millions on their campaigns get unceremoniously dumped and someone else who didn't spend a dime like Chris Christie or Jeb Bush gets roped in.
That would be soooooo funny. Conservative heads would be exploding across the nation. Hope it happens. :-)

Having Santorum as president might aid negotiations with Iran as they share in common the belief that the American government is the Great Satan.

Yep, because there is nothing more extreme, then believing in freedom. Freedom of religion, freedom of speech etc. You and Obama get along well though. He apparently believes that he should have the right to force people to go along with his beliefs. It truly is sad how far the left has fallen, with their vicious hatred of freedom.
I don't know. I think they have more in common with Obama, who seems to think everyone who doesn't share his belief is in fact the Great Satan. Given some of the comments above, I would guess that the far lefties on the board here pretty much feel the same way.

"Yep, because there is nothing more extreme, then believing in freedom. Freedom of religion, freedom of speech"
Or freedom to sodomize in the privacy of your own bedroom? Heh, you radicals crack me up, you haven't the first idea what freedom means.

"the right to force people to go along"
That is clearly the way it works in America if laws pass the hurdles of the city council, county board, state and federal House and Senate, lower level courts and, finally, the Supreme Court.
Places without those tyrannical brakes to "freedom" are known as Somalia and... that's about it. Too small a sample to say that absolute freedom from government interference is really the ideal.

Hey, I thought Rick Santorum was supposed to be a good Catholic. The debate was held on Ash Wednesday. Ricky's forehead looked awfully shiny to me. Where's your ash mark, Super Catholic?

Iran or the American Government? With Santorum, I'm going to need a clarification.

You know the trouble with such a long primary and so many candidates is that it becomes more n more difficult for the hard-working journalists, who really do know what is best for us, to stay with the 'Republicans they are all crazy' angle and make the stupid sheeple believe it.

The Truth Matters
Or they could just leave the cameras on and let the candidates show the "sheeple" (by the way, I like what you did there, combining sheep and people, very clever boy, you are!) how crazy they are all by themselves. They've been doing a pretty good job.
Romney hates the poor. Santorum hates gays and the poor. and Gingrich hates everybody.
Showing these losers for the hate mongers they are only requires the camera be live. But I'm sure you and Sailwind have some nice conspiracy theories.
Is Dan Rathers secretly behind all this?

There is nothing wrong with what your religion is, but the Santorum has a religious bias to the point that he keeps bringing up Christian values and because of that, he is venemously against gay marriage, abortion, and accepting scientific proof that climate change due to humans exists!
That is no way true freedom by denying other people those rights!
The Founding Fathers would nod their heads in disbelief if they listen to these Christian sermons....in Congress!
