    What is the definition of an impossibility?

    Quote: “The Russian side underscored the lack of an alternative to a peaceful resolution of (Syria’s) internal conflict through a broad inter-Syrian dialogue and political process,” a statement said. But it made no mention of ways to achieve those goals.

    Russia has resigned itself to losing its' sole foreign naval base and I imagine is probably hoping for Syria to descend into an Afghanistan style pit of fundie despair. I guess it's the only hope they have left after losing yet more influence in the region, as I doubt any post-Assad government, if they manage to avoid chaos and even organize one that is, will be very Moscow friendly. And who could blame 'em?
