I've talked to several Russians and all say basically the same thing. Living conditions are very harsh; one lady lived with her mother and daughter in a small one bedroom apartment. She worked two jobs and averaged just over the equivalent of 50 dollars a month. True or not I do not know as I do not live in Russia. Yet to hear it from several different individuals I tend to believe it. Limited schooling - limited jobs that pay well. Abusive alcoholic Father figures & many things that I take for granted in my daily life are considered a luxury. Many have never driven a car at the age of 30....so many things to list...and young adults see this and could easily become depressed at their prospects for having a good life. Hence the Suicide rate...as I said this is what I have pieced together from talking with several different Russians. It does not mean it is fact.
