Well I see the US deployed its internal army the National Guard . Given the US support for Ukrainian events I'm surprised the US government didn't let the demonstrators to barricade off Time Square for months. After all they thought it was peachy keen when demonstrators blocked off a square in Kyiv for months.

The human rights abused were the shop owners, car owners, innocent townspeople and taxpayers. They lost for no reason. Wilson had justification, the rioters have none.
I blame US mass media distorting the truth from day one. And helping these riots to thrive with what some think is a purpose.

Takes a low class country like Russia not to recognize the difference between a country where people can protest heavily and it is covered on TV and a country where protesters are shuttled off in police vans for having shown their faces.

Its narrow minded points of view like these which cause problems.
US and EU considered those who toppled a democratically elected Ukraine government as legitimate protestors but those who are now protesting against the current Ukraine government as terrorists.
If the US and EU had stayed out of it, thousands would not have died and Crimea would still have been a part of Ukraine.
Russia did not miss the chance to give one back to them.

If we were Russia we'd be blaming the riots on foreign instigators, then passing laws to take an 80% ownership stake in CNN to safeguard ourselves.

America still has a long ways to go, but at least it's dealing with its issues.
Other countries have longer ways to go, but what's worse is they're not dealing with them, hiding them instead of discussing them out in the open.

The differences between Russia and the USA are: 1. The USA president cannot order the arrest of a citizen, and 2, the USA police cannot willfully beat protesters with batons. Human rights in Russia, Syria, and many other countries is an oxymoron. 200 hooligans who love to physically fight the police or anyone else out of 385 million peaceful people got the media's attention. The rest of the people just tried to go to work and pay their bills. Unfortunately the rioters took their minimum wage jobs away when they burned the businesses. It is the season to be thankful, and thank goodness most of the writers live in countries like Japan and the USA. FREE.

Was it Stalin's granddaughter who came to the US and declared that Russia and the USA were like two peas in a pod, many more similarities than differences?

SuperLib has it right. Russia happily censors the internet, censors the TV, and censors who can appear in a public place and protest. The false equivalencies here should fool no one: Russia is 148th in the world in press freedom.
