For decades, the rival Koreas have fought an ideological war, using leaflets, loudspeakers and radio broadcasts across the border. At the height of the propaganda, South Korea’s military speakers blared messages near the border 20 hours a day, officials say.

I took a tour to the DMZ once. If SK wants to really use propaganda, on the next Korean holiday, just set up a huge buffet table with plenty of food and have the people from the south enjoy themselves. Those stern guard on the North will probably not have as much as a swagger then as they see people eating all they can, while they are on rations.

That will really hit home in my opinion.

Drama queens will be drama queens.

You're talking about Bill Richardson, right?

Why just a cross? If they are going to erect towers, then one tower should have a crescent moon, another a swastika, another a Yin-Yang, another a heart, etc.

Gov. Richardson praised Pyongyang on Tuesday for refraining from retaliation

Indeed, the North Koreans were the ones with cool heads; scary isn't it.

As long as SK doesn't hold any more 'drills' for a while.

North Korea just needs to relax, their stupid cult religion of worshiping those false idols, oops, their dear beloved dictators is just a horrible joke. They should just have a Coke and a smile, like the rest of the free world and enjoy their short time on this place called planet earth. Merry Christmas and feliz Navidad from not so sunny California.

elbud, I'm sure the majority of NK people would love to just relax. But if they do they get sent to a gulag or worse. I wish them all a Merry Christmas and, hopefully, a happier new year.

Remember the "Iron Curtain"? Curtains are not iron.

DMZ Demilitarized Zone Not one of the most heavily mined and militarized zones on Earth?

"Democratic People's Republic of Korea" Not really democratic and republican?

Who comes up with these names!

So lighting a Christmas tree is a provocation that can lead to war? To to a psychotic maybe. I say we send the entire NK military command Christmas cards and fruitcake to the Kims.

I say you hold a feast at the SK side of the wall and all you can. The soldiers on the north, hungry, will surely join in. Also, you sing Christmas carols in front of the North Koreans. :D
