He got what he deserved. They should have made him share a cell with Mr Cuddly.

    Pretty revolting piece.

Makes you wonder what Saddam the Arab lion, the modern Saladin,
Kofi and the Gang's Sugar Daddy did to get a bag of Doritos while locked up in the pokey.

What strikes me from this story is what an ignoramous the man was.

It's just hard to believe that someone in his position was unaware that you can't get aids from handling laundry...

"Saddam feared getting AIDS in prison"

    Arafat died of AIDS.

Was Saddam worried his image as the Arab Strongman would suffer if he was perceived as having contracted AIDS in prison rather than from some UN nancy boy?

At least he died a more dignified death than Ariel Sharon (now a comatose poop machine).

“But our language (Arabic) is more beautiful and deeper.”

Uh, I don't think so. French and Japanese may be beautiful languages, but Arabic belongs at the bottom along with German and Hebrew.

Don't know what is more rediculous, believing that he could get aids in prison or that he was related to the 9/11 attack or was in the possession of nuclear weapons. Well at least such kind of news is cooling off the US fiasco in Iraq for again a day.

Idiotic that getting a VD was at the top of his list of concerns but oh well. As for getting what he deserved I think they should have given him his country back with some conditions. Apparently someone thought that propping up Malicki who refuses to help himself was better. No I see no paralells between Iraq and Vietnam at all.....

Good point M.L., who is the bigger fool? Saddam, thinking he can get V.D. from a clothesline or the American people for thinking Iraq was a threat to them?

Iraq (under Saddam) wasn't exactly a hotbed of education, or known for free-flowing information.

But under Saddam, women could go to school. The Iraqi woman was allowed to uncover their bodies from the burka. They were freer in Iraq than most other countries in the Middle East.

Saddam is dead. george bush's revenge was met.

Sure Saddam hurt a lot of people, but it takes a real ignoramous to kill 100s of 1000s of people and ruin another country for your own personal revenge.

Pardon me while I recover from the irony of that statement.

"it takes a real ignoramous to kill 100s of 1000s of people and ruin another country"

Or, it takes a man with vision to liberate a country and give those people a shot at running their own country, eh?

It's still just astounding to me that Saddam could know so little about AIDS. I know I've said that already, but returning to this thread again launched me into a new round of amazement. How can someone in his position, the man ultimately responsible for the health care of his entire country, know absolutely nothing about the most famous disease of the last 20 years?

SuperLib - Saddam was just a harmless old coot.
