It' sure going to be interesting watching the GOP fight back against a surge most of them support. :-)

Where is this money coming from?

Will be hard for them to point their fingers at Obama in the same way again after this.

Sushi, the GOP isn't against the surge, which is less than his military commanders said is needed, they're against the withdrawal announcement.
"Where is this money coming from?"
Japan and China.

The AP's got a story titled "Skeptical Democrats resign themselves to Obama's war plan."

What's to sell? A decision has been made and orders should be cut. Does it really matter what critics or supporters of this plan think now? Rather than sitting around debating the pros and cons of this policy (which in itself took way too long to develop), the politicians should be shutting up and letting the field commanders get on with their jobs.
God I hate politicians who play at being soldiers.

timorborder- in the USA, the domestic politics tail always wags the foreign policy dog. Not criticizing really, that is just how it works.

They'll just have to protest their own failed leadership.
Hate it when that happens!

Answer to The 758, either China, increased taxes or both.

This sounds distinctly like some uppity drunk floosey, refusing to pay her own way because she is too "special".

If America is willing to support the surge, then it should be willing to pay for it, either by increasing tax or borrowing ("borrowing" is just another term for "increasing tax in the future" anyways).

I feel sorry for Gates, who is forced into making inane statements like the plan was both "firm and flexible" Obamaspeak is catchy eh.

Obama and his Libertal buddies do not have a clue about how to deal with the mess they have created in Afghanistan.
Obama is viewed worldwide as a fruitcake and this new timetable to cut and run makes us the worlds laughing stock.
This plan is doomed to failure and is more evidence that Obama is a one term lame duck President.

You are so funny. Obama didn't create this mess, but he will end it. < :-)

As opposed to Republican times which equate to buy now, pay later.
Iraq and Afganistan were poorly planned invasions from the onset and any future plan is doomed to fail because of it.
And the inability of biggest/richest army in world to defeat impoverished insurgents/terrorist over eight years has nothing to do with that.
Obama should have pulled out Afghanistan, it's clear that by the way elections are run, the laws passed into the Afghanistan constitution(including Sharia law) and apathy towards the continued Taliban presence in Afghanistan, that the average Afghanistan citizen could careless about the sacrifices that soldiers are making for them.

Maybe this time the US forces will be allowed to catch Osama Bin Laudin not in tora bora when Bush let the 9-11 killer get away.

Instead of troops, this administration should ship 30,000 white flags over the Afghanistan instead.

RomeoRamenII, please explain what the white flags are for? I really don't understand your point, if you are actually trying to make one. < :-)
