Pay the fine -those are the rules in Singapore.

At least in Singapore, it won't provoke a slaughter in a nightclub. But haven't these members of the public who complained ever been to their own Orchard Towers or Bugis Street? There's a lot more than same-sex kissing there!

Only a socially backwards country would ban a same-sex kiss in a public performance - or continue to criminalise same-sex relations.

No, Les Miserables never had such a thing written into the play for the centuries it's been around. Some nitwit decided to push their own agenda in a classic play. I wish people would stop altering classics just to satisfy their own ego. Les Miserables never had anything to do with homosexuality, but with disparity. If they want to make a play about homosexuality, then they should make their own play. It's been done before.

Singapore is run by a shadow dictatorial government. I would never live there. Too backwards and repressive of free thought. Nothing to do but go to bars. No unique scenery. The food was the only redeeming aspect of my visits there. When I read about their policies and decisions, I just feel sorry for people who have to live there. It is a yuppie clad hell with hot humid weather. Yuck.

LOL at this dumb post. There are 99% worse places to live. I love SGP. Wish I could move there. Very safe place, especially for families. No need to worry about terrorism or gun violence.

It sounds like you've never been there.

A lot of the smaller native/local food establishments got priced out of the high rents and global fast food venues took over.

I don't recall any same-sex stuff in the Book.
Yes, it is a Brick but than the story covers a few decades, most musicals only show a section of the actual book.
Granted War and Peace was a bigger Brick of a Book.

Wodder how the upcoming Disney movie will be received, looks like the heroines will be lesbians.
Shakespeare wrote for the common people thus his plays had to deal with a shorter attention span and also had to compete with prostitution and drunken fights. Not taking anything away from him but his plays were performed under difficult conditions.
