Welcome symbolism but the cut in troop strengh is the real news and that is to be regretted. Taken together with the limitations many European nations place on their soldiers' ability to actually wage war, cuts in troop strenght and spending endanger the alliance. It is becoming ever-more lopsided.

"Bringing France closer to the United States on defense, Sarkozy confirmed France’s plans to return to NATO’s integrated command, which it left in 1966 when Charles de Gaulle rejected U.S. dominance of the alliance."

The lovefest continues as you just gotta love this Sarkozy guy !

"The most immediate threat today is that of a terrorist attack,” said the president. “The threat is there, it is real and we know that it can tomorrow take on a new form, even more serious, with nuclear, chemical and biological means.”

Looks like the French might finally get on board. If so, you just watch as Bush and company set the middle east on fire ! Bought damn time the French got tired of seeing their country run over by muslim beligerants. This could get interesting as France could now sway many in Europe to finally get serious about fighting terrorism, of course now that the US has a handle on Iraq it's all starting to look like a U.S. victory. Sarkozy aint no dummy, he knows when to jump on the band wagon, just before it marches down mainstreet !

"Looks like the French might finally get on board."

The French have been "on-board" since the beginning of the so-called war on terror.

"The French have been "on-board" since the beginning of the so-called war on terror"

    On-board what? Surrender?

    "so-called war on terror"

So you wouldn't call it a war on terror. So what is it, then?

I think Sarkozy cooperating with "Bush Co" has got you riled up.
