Is this a sign of things to come when the full impact of the $6 trillion of extra debt run up by the George W. Bush Administration hits?

Many of the US supporters slam Japan, wonder how the US will do after a 15yr recession? Will they still be number 1?
But I think the governor made the right decision he could have raised taxes, etc to cover it too.

Zen Builder- Arnie is cutting down on costs, being prudent.
The US economy is booming and has been since Bush was first elected. The boom will continue with McCains election.
Arnie is doing unpopular things, butb the right things, he knows what made America great.

Yet, he is not a TRUE American and can't even run for presidency. He is one of those europeans you like to slam.

Zen Builder- You are correct. However h has fallen in love with America and wants to do his best fo his new country.
I don`t slam all Europeans, i agree with most thing said by UK conservative leadefr David Cameron.
I think foreign born residents should be able to stand for presidency, the law should be changed.

FairandBalanced,
The strength of Schwarzenegger is his flexibility and his willingness to oppose Bush's policies. I agree that Schwarzenneger is probably doing the right thing here. However, if the economy were truly booming, I doubt that Schwarzenegger would need to cut jobs "to avoid a 'full-blown' fiscal crisis in California."

SezWho2- He needs to do thisbecause of bad management before he came into office.
The economy really is booming, year on year rises, WOW!!
He needs to be strong in California , and not let Unions scare him into changing his mind. He should make sure though, that all employees receive enough pay to live on , with incuring any debt.

If the US economy is that much booming, why are there reports in the global media of US-Citizens going for dual-citizenship because they feel that they get more and better options overseas.
You can claim citizenship in many countries if you can prove that your ancestors came from there(rules vary of course).
It is understandable an US passport entitles you to work, study and live in the USA, yet an EU citizenship allows you to work and live in X-countries. And if you got both = BONUS.
Many americans now seem to think that the future lies back in the old shores as it offers more.
Are those people traitors to the US(they are still US citizens).
Give me your views.
P.S.: Don't have links handy right now but they are easily found.

Zen Builder- There are always going to be soe folks that want to live abroad. Doesn`t mean it is for financial gain. Heck!! i lived in Japan for 8 years earning much less than at home, but it was a lifestyle i wanted to experience.
I hope people don`t want to leave the US for economic reasons, we have the worlds strongetsteconomy, best workers rights etc.
I people are feeling let down, it must be by their state, not central government.

Read the reports online, than come back. And it is for economic reasons they are doing it.

FairandBalanced
Zen Builder- Yeah, but economic reasons caused by mismanagement before Arnie came to power.
It had to happen. Time to be prudent.

Nice twist.
Read the articles those guys/gals are from all over the USA not just california.
But I guess you will just claim that the reports are done by liberals and thus enemies of your view of the USA.

FairandBalanced
Zen Builder- Heck!! i didn`t say it is not folks from the whole of the US.
If they believe they have a better life awaiting them elsewhere , then they are free to do that.
I bet they change their mind after using decades out of date social healthcare. They`ll soon come running back in fear of being ill. Tee Hee!

Zen_Builder
I see more "Tee Hee" what happened to your "Bwahaha"? Both of which got used by others posters first.
Don't be so sure that they will change their minds, they might see the USA for what it truly is.
And enjoy not being treated as "suspects" who need to be controlled at airports and told what cutlery they can use, etc.

Looks like Arnie will go the same way as Gray Davis without the "help" of Enron and Dubya lying to support his position. Davis, you may remember, got clobbered for cutting the State budget because Bush's crooked friends forced California to buy electricity at premium rates. I wonder how forgiving California's voters will be of Arnie's cuts...

"The US economy is booming"
I beg your pardon???? Haven't you heard what Alan Greenspan recently said? Ohhh...I'm sure you'll call him a liberal. And we should watch Fox News and we should be more balanced. Well, even if we were and did....the US economy isn't growing!!! It's going down. "Heck"...it's going to be a recession!!
Keep dreaming, Foxie!

"roomtemperature; booming according to Sean Hannitty, who do you believe him or Greenspan?"
.........................sigh

roomtemperature; I`ll give you some assistance, the answer is not Alan Greenspan. Tee hee!
Go on Arnie make California strong again.

Tell you the truth, Arnie is the only Fiscal Conservative I have seen in a long time. Wish he could run for higher office, would be a nice change from the usual Tax and SPEND SPEND SPEND Republican.

I just can't belive the writer of the article missed out on the oppertunity to say Arnie was terminiating 22,000 government jobs.

FairandBalanced,
I'm not sure what your payoff is in making the claims that you do.
But, just for your amusement, here's an article from the well-known liberal rag U.S. News & World Report that indicates how much the California voters are enjoying the boomtimes:
http://www.usnews.com/articles/news/politics/2008/07/25/california-voters-report-unprecedented-economic-pain.html
It seems they're not.

Government jobs very uncreative, they need to be reduced.
