Fact is that this sick selfish practice of enslaving animals needs to end. I am not a PETA member, but I might have said much the same things. I have to be drug to zoos even, and then all I do is point out the cruelty to the animals and their poor psychological states evidenced by pacing, excessive scratching and other repeated behaviors.

Free Willy (although didn't Willy die pretty soon after he was freed)?? I kind of agree that keeping animals in zoos and aquatic animals in aquariums feels wrong, but then again it does serve a purpose if they are not being ridden/exploited/trained etc.... Education and information. not everyone can afford to go on safari or whale watching/scuba diving.

At first I didn't get the furor over this, but after reading lists of injuries to both animals and their human trainers, and deaths, I really have to call into question the entire mission of these parks. It's pretty stupid to keep animals imprisoned and forced to perform for our amusement.

There are animals that are suitable to be kept in zoos, and they are interesting enough. Large, free-roaming intelligent creatures like Orcas should not. We have so much technology today, why not simply show some good videos of those.

Performing animals in parks, zoos and the circus should really be outlawed globally.

I must confess that I love to visit Sea World and see Shamu. However, you have to expect a creature like that to sometimes go crazy. In human terms, it would probably be like living in solitary confinement.

When I went to Sea World in Orlando years ago, "Shamu" refused to perform. He slid out of the pool onto the concrete, and refused to move. The "trainers" said he was throwing a tantrum because his girlfriend was in the next tank, and he wanted to get his freak on (no, they didn't say it like that).
