The Obammunists want to go over the cliff. It is the best way to get all of the tax increases they want without having to vote for them. They always want to cut defense so that's a no-brainer. They have the lapdog press to pin any negative consequences on Conservatives so BamBam scoots along another four years without taking responsibility for anything. Cliff-diving - it's a done deal. The economy takes a back seat to Left wing ideology.

What GOP proposal? They refuse to detail what they demand as "serious" spending cuts as they are not willing to take the inevitable heat that will come with this. Instead, they want the Dems to put forward concrete proposals that they will then inevitably criticize as "not serious" and insufficient.
Boehner's most recent offer to Obama again contained zero income tax rate increases. Wolfpack, if you are concerned in any way about the deficit, that cannot be called anything but irresponsible.
