Id say his lawyer is doing his job! That poor Japanese lady should have used him. Good lawyers are supposed to find holes in the law. Wish this young lad luck!

When he gets free, I wonder how long will it take for that six figure sum to go up in smoke.....Literally

The boy, will be 20 when he's freed, will be missing important years of education with criminal record & will probably not able to restart his life as a young adult by then...

Well, at least the 6 digit amount ( selling the exclusive story right ), if being kept properly by his parents until he's out, could be a capital for the boy to help financing his new life..hopefully..

By the way, how this boy has already addicted to marijuana before 14 ?! What kind of family is it ?

The ironic thing is that marijuana isn't addictive.

While I'm no big fan of the "harmless" weed nor its abuse or "recreational" uses, its not addictive. But hey, its a lawyer (seemingly a good one), and its Indonesia. Its best to use any defense possible since this is quite a young teen found to have commited a crime in a harsh foriegn justice system... and teens are known for doing really stupid things. He should have saved it for when he got home in AU instead of trying to walk all over the globe with it considering when you're in another country, their laws work quite differently than the ones in his home nation.

The crazy thing is that Aussies are still buying drugs in Bali! We have 2 on death row there (( part of the bali 9 )) and the high profile case of Schappelle Corby (sp?) in the Aussie media for years.

Proves that people never learn. And kids think they are above the law. When this kid got arrested they his lawyer said that he was expecting him to be released the next day. Now they are talking about a 6 year sentence. In Bali, it doesn't seem to matter how good your lawyer is, the judge will hand down a sentence and thats it. Plus, Indonesia doesn't like being asked for lenency etc...

And the prison they are talking to is an infamous prison in Bali, not a juvenile prison.

And, I think his parents are nuts for selling the story before the sentence is given out!

True that Mentaiko2, that kid didn't know what he was getting into obviously. Like I said, teens and stupidity go hand in hand. Real world consequences don't always end up with a slap on the wrist.
