Another first. < :-)

Ms. Sotomayor's appointment is also another first in that no previous candidate for SCOTUS has had so many decisions reversed by the high court. In a sane world a reversal rate of sixty percent would have completely removed her from consideration for anything beyond the appeals court Clinton nominated her for.
I disapprove of her nomination but look forward to watching what an embarrassment she will prove to be.

Less than one minute on Google gives me:

I don't think any of us outside the law profession know enough about her to actually make an informed decision on her - and history has shown that what people think about an incoming justice isn't always what they get.

If we could just get rid of 3 more old conservative buzzards we might get some justice in this country.

That is great news for me. It is like the RR seal of approval. I would not want it any other way.

LastBestHope since you have been fed this 60% number, have you also been fed the numbers on other justices? I don't know what it is, but I'd like to see your numbers. < :-)

I hope that any white guy whose case comes up before the Sureme Court isn't expecting to get a fair shake from Sotomayor.

That's like saying that any white guy who winds up in front of Clarence Thomas shouldn't be expecting equality in his decisions. < :-)

I'm still trying to figure out why the right dislikes Judge Sotomayor and why the left loves her so much. She's an independant, a Roman Catholic, and in the case of Krimstock v. Kelly she halted New York City's practice of seizing the motor vehicles thereby protecting property rights. She really doesn't have any Second Amendment record (aside from not allowing a man in New York to use a nunchaku) and her upbringing probably has her leaning toward a pro-life stance.
If she had cut the 'wise latina' garbage I think the vote would have included many more republicans but thats neither here nor now.

The SCOTUS "reversal rate" has nothing to do with this since most of her reversals are close, like 4-to-5 going along the SCOTUS ideological split, so it's not like a resounding reversal. And her replacing another liberal Justice would not alter that split. So she's just going along with the current SCOTUS and keep the status quo.

Ah yes, "the White man is hated" far right slogan. I do love that one, really I do. Makes me laugh whenever I watch one of your rallies on youtube. White guys yelling at those rallies makes you guys seem a bit paranoid.
But I think the white race is safe for now. It seems that you forgot something, there are 8 other Justices who serve on the court. So I think the White man maybe okay, well for now that is.
Now who is going to retire next? LOL
