Why detain him? Let him go! If he wants to experience Kim Yong Uns workers paradise, why not.

By all means let him go. We should not interfere when the gene pool self chlorinates.

Too many Twinkies maybe...

They should have allowed that moron to get into North Korea, he would have gotten a very rude awakening to Communist hospitality.

...and I thought Dennis Rodman was a baseball player, not a swimmer.

This guy is lucky, If he entered N. Korea, he would be shot by N Korean border patrrols,. S Korean vorder patrol did not shoot him. Very lucky, But embarassment to USA. How did re enter to S Korea? S Lprea will be careful of any American coming to their country now.

What is it with Americans wanting to "experience" North Korea?

(smirk) I thought he was a basketball player.

I am not going to apologize for this countryman. I agree he should have been allowed to continue on his journey because the relative I.Q. of South Korea would have increased a bit had he been allowed to cross the river. If the North Koreans had captured him (as opposed to shooting him on sight), I would decline all offers of an exchange - if I had a say in the matter. "No, I think we'll let all the idiots stay in your country."

Fowle who left a bible in his hotel room was arrested only for that. Shame on North Korea. He should be immediately released! As for the dummy who ripped up his visa, well...he should be handed the Darwin Award for that act. Not too smart if you ask me. Now the swimmer. Where do they find these people? Excluding Mr. Fowle. He did nothing wrong, me thinks.

In September, a South Korean man who tried to swim to the North across the Imjin River section of the border was shot dead by South Korean troops manning a nearby guard post.

The SK troops must have been proud and pleased to have had a reason for pulling the trigger knowing national security was at risk by the half naked swimmer.

Bae, a Korean-American described by Pyongyang as a militant evangelist, was sentenced last year to 15 years of hard labor for seeking to topple the North’s regime.

The N regime is admitting its impotence in protecting itself against one evangelist.

And the Bible, now that is a real threat. People might get the idea fat boy is not the chosen one.
