Happy Anniversary Neil and Buzz. Wish I had seen it at the time but I was way too young. Compai to you guys.

Those were some brave men, trusting 1960's technology to land them on the moon and get them back to Earth safely.

If NASA had maintained it's 1960's level of spending, we'd probably already have a base on Mars. The US being the lead in space exploration is just as much about national security as it is science and exploration. I'm all for it.

waste. just what the heck do we need to land on mars or the moon for? Are you gonna move there? of course not. How about spending that money on learning what's going on on earth? how many plants, animals, insects, and fish have not learned about yet? We don't even know a whole about the oceans and the rain forests.
Brave men, yeah going that high up so my rant is not against them. What's all this 1960's ancient talk for?

Helter - Heck, if NASA had kept going like they were in the 60's, we'd have a huge spinning space station like the one depicted in 2001:A Space Odyssey, and possibly warp drive!

It's not like they're mutually exclusive. You can do both. NASA is only a fraction of a percent of the federal budget. How about shutting down some of the more wasteful social programs that account for most of the federal budget?

why can't NASA re-use or copy the 1960's equipments that were supposedly used for the moon landing? It'll cost alot less.
