normally the international con approach is to sell off all public assets, make sure rich people have no new taxes while making sure all others do, reduce public spending which will be easy since there will be fewer assets that generated income, ring up massive debts in the process, then get kicked out of office.
you never see taxes to the rich increase to within only 100x that of the lowest employee (1970's it was 40x in USA so 100 to 200 times wouldn't be an unrealistic cut off), public institutions upheld so that people have hope, and open up the markets without subsidies?
If public institutions are upheld then there is no fear of changing jobs due to lack of competitiveness. However cut public support and business will clamour for subsidies or threaten to move because of their inabilities.
cut the subsidies, not the people. People can make new companies.
Will be interesting to see how this works out, but I suspect it will be the same old story.

Helping Zapatero and the socialists win victory back in 2004 was one of the few triumphs Al Qaeda has won ,though it was a shameful day for Spain if you ask me. This is another blow to AQ's medieval fundies. Its a pity we couldn't take OBL alive and have been able to get his reaction. Well done, Spain.

This as opposed to the standard lib tactic of blaming all the problems on the rich, stoking the fires of envy and greed in the have nots, and taking from the rich to make them have-nots, while giving their money to the government...
Story is about Spain, but what the hell. Over half the people in the country don't pay taxes. That and the 'rich' pay nearly all of the taxes. So, who is really paying for the government? The evil rich. No doubt you're of the opinion that no one should make more then anyone else, and that anyone who does should simply turn over all that extra money to those who need it. (IE the government.)
