Strauss-Kahn to break rape case silence on French television

He has had plenty of time to think of a great story. Diallo never had that benefit.

So what will he say? Did he put out the maid service sign or was it Do Not Disturb? Diallo says he was naked when she entered the room and chased her. Will he say he did not run but sashayed? Will he say it was her who initatiated or him? Will he say he completely forgot about when he claimed two weeks earlier his opponents were trying to get him in a sex scandal? Will he tell us why he went from "never happened" to "Consensual!" and then stayed silent for months.

I have to admit, its been awfully hard to attack his story since he never gave us one. Meanwhile, attacking Diallo's story has been a snap, and her character even easier.

Nice. I guess its open season on unreliable women everywhere, as it won't even go to trial.

Leave the poor old man alone, he is through in politics. He will never hold another important or any other position. He needs to enjoyed his retirement.

Being sexually addicted, and rape are two different things. Sexual addiction is to seek (and give) pleasure. Rape is about power and destruction. This guy shouldn't be free.

@cptcrunch: Agreed. This guy has had ample time to get the spin working. Yet, he's got cash, lawyers, friends in high places which trumps the justice system.

Media should ignore him. If he has something to say, he should talk to the Courts.

A few years ago, he got trials for mishandling Social Security money to fund his party (don't imagine he'd use his own gazdillions of euros), and at the end, the trials were aborted due to lawyer's tricks to sideline witnesses and exploitation of loopholes, prescription and a convenient change of law voted by his buddy... He came to say : "So I am a victim, innocent and falsely accused... no, I have no comment on this insurance affair, the trial is over... respect my rights, I am here to talk about my next election campaign....". Idem this time. I bet he'll avoid talking about the facts and will give a lecture about his rights to privacy and having his innocence proclaimed (as long as he is not convicted) not respected, blah, blah...
His wife is one of the most famous TV show host and BFF of his interviewer. A number of French journalists have already apologized to him. The won't squeeze him with embarrassing questions. But few people doubt that he did it, at least a couple of times. If not rape, at least harassing women that had not the means to reject him nor complain.
