Oh man, gotta really feel for those poor people. Praying they can save as many as possible. Are we sending our super rescue teams ?

Go to this link and look at what Chinese/Taiwanese people eat.... Dead babies.

Good, I'm glad this earthquake crushed these dogs.

I was awakened by the violent shaking in south Taiwan as my fifth floor studio apartment in an eight storey building shook for ninety terrifying seconds without let up as if the Earth God of Taiwan folk culture was angry. The worst quake I have ever felt in my short life. Worst was the helpless feeling watching the walls and ceiling shake and creak while books fell off shelves, Windows vibrated like all hell breaking loose. Pray for the dead and for those rescued from that seveteen storey building. What a night from hell. Words cannot describe it. Worse than a horror movie.

I am surprised more people are not dead since this building is in such bad shape and 247 people were pulled out of the rubble. Building engineers need to look at the plans and construction of this building and run some simulations to figure out what went wrong.

News reports are now saying that the collapse of the 20 year old, 17 floor condo was due to shoddy construction.

What an awful disaster and I wish the people of Taiwan all the best.

I have a friend in Tainan close to where this building collapsed. Emailed me today to say he's okay, though extremely shocked and is going back to stay with his parents, and sent a bunch of pics like the one above. Horrible stuff. I'm only surprised more weren't killed, looking at the photos. My heart goes out to the people and I hope no one else is hurt and/or killed.

Taiwan: last time new Zealand got hit , Japan followed not much later. I hope Japan is not next.
