How may are real christians in those Christian countries? Seems like Jesus left the Christian groups by watching the imorality and family problems amoung them. So does the case of Muslims there is no Muhammad in thier religion. 2.2 plus 1.6 make 3.8 billion. What about the rest of 3.2 billion are they going to hell? Hell isa so big to accomodate big number of people. Thank you God for making a big hell.

    The Truth Matters

Christians comprise nearly 80% of the U.S. population

The lion's share of that 80% only practice on Sunday, if even that.

    God's biggest problem is religion.

The lion's share of that 80% only practice on Sunday, if even that.

And at least 30% of that practice involves playing BINGO.

Within the next few decades Europe will transform from a christian/secular society into an islamic one. And the world will not be a better place for that. The short-termers who deny that this is happening are simply refusing to look at the logical progression of the trend. In the short term, demographics is nothing. In the long term, it is everything.

That would be a good step into peace. If we had only one religion, then there wouldn't be any wars.

I think Foxie makes a good comment, but just trying to decide say on 1 kind of Christianity and you will have everybody at each others throats, kind of like now Pakistan with their Muslims sects killing each other or Iraq etc..but just insert CHRISTIAN for Muslim, but say about 100, 200 years ago, the Catholics were trying to get rid of the Protestants there in Europe right??

Elbuda! 1000 years ago, the whole Europe was being forced to accept Christianity. Now is the time for the Muslims. In my opinion, this planet need less religion, less god for excuses and more action, more work, more passion for life.

Why does a persons faith have to be given an identity, protestant, catholic, jews, muslim, buddhist, hindu, etc. Your faith is your own, your belief. God and all the Thealogans tend to agree about there only being one God sometimes known by other names. I don't need lecturing on my own faith. If we were to take literary the phrase"This is a house of god" which makes God a huge property owner. I don't need to be told where to pray and on which day I should pray. I consider myself a christian with a strong belief,my belief, something which is private and I don't shove down other peoples throats. I have a question, for all the astronomical wealth these various denominations have accumulated , why is there so much poverty , sickness and starvation in this world today.??

Gurukun: If we had no religion, there wouldn't be any wars.

Yeah, tell that to the people of Russia under Stalin or Cambodia under Pol Pot. If you get rid of religion, the wars will be political or ideological as pretty much all the major wars of the 20th century were. Get rid of politics and ideology and the wars will be over greed as we see today in some of the failed developing states. In the end, when you break it down, wars are usually fought on the want of power, on intolerance or on plain old greed. If you can work out a way to get rid of those, we'll all be much better off.

Pew research haha i find that ironic does anyone else?

    Bums on seats was it?

Anyway as most people know religion is the root of most evil, time to rethink things regarding worship and believe.

Elbuda Mexicano, I agree with you! The key is TOLERANCE and if we had more of it there would be less wars. realmind and others, what gives you the right to judge what is a "real christian"?

Nonsense. This is run-of-the-mill "Eurabian" twaddle, having more to do with xenophobia than with real demographics.

Thanks Yuri, I also agree that we need more love, respect in this world.

    Gurukun

I also agree that we need more love, respect in this world.

Yes!! Agree. But no religion. You can have love and respect for others without being brainwashed into believing in a god, or whatever. If everybody that believed and stopped wasting time in some higher 'something,' only used that time believing in oneself, then the world would be a better place.

    illsayit

Wow ! There is more Christians in China than in Australia!

I dont get everybody starting to talk about the word religion with this article?? Is it some Christians of America that became disillusioned with the churches there? So rather than dealing with that, they want to degenerate the religions of the world? Religion's are a community of people.

Gurukun: ( I also agree that we need more love, respect in this world.) - Yes!! Agree. But no religion.

So we should respect everyone except those who don't believe the same thing as us? Funny, but we tend to get the same line from religious fundamentalists. Intolerance is a door that swings both ways.

So we should respect everyone except those who don't believe the same thing as us?

If we respected everyone, how could you not repspect those who don''t believe in the same things as us?
