Still coming up with the qualifier, "b-b-but attacks are still down 99 percent compared to last March!!!" How nice, considering that attacks and deaths are still astronomically high, period.
No end in sight.

I think most people have a sympathetic reaction when they hear the word "suicide" because it is usually the an act of a depressed person; an act of terrible desperation. Please don't use the words "suicide" and "bomber" together. The term "suicide bomber" glorifies these nuts and legitimizes them as some kind of martyr. Since the intention is to kill as many as possible, they are not merely "suicide" bombers, but killers, murderers or homicide bombers if you will...thats all.

30061015 Well, they are not Muslims either, according to the reports coming out of India, because Islam forbids suicide. So they will all end up in Hell, from the point of view of Islam.
What should we call them? 'Kamikaze' doesn't quite fit. 'Self-destructers'? 'Head-poppers'? 'Human bombs'?

30061015: You're getting into some pretty bizarre symantics. Nowhere outside of the 'samurai world' is suicide really a 'glorified' thing. What's more, they do end up killing themselves, do they not? THAT is the definition of suicide, not 'glorifying oneself'. Suicide bomber is apt., whether you approve of the nomenclature or not. It's no less disgusting than someone who sits far back from all the damage and does not kill him or herself in the process.

Smith: "..some pretty bizarre symantics". Word smithing to create and explore meaning is the foundation of language. But... as you wish. nandakandamanda:"..end up in Hell, from the point of view of Islam..."
Some believe this, others believe in they are instant martyrs that will find virgins waiting without number. Really doest matter. The point is not to give them ANY credulity since it only makes them into local heroes, which recruits more Head-poppers to follow the culture of death. Using the word suicide gives added focus to the perpetrator, not to the victims. MSNBC World News had this to say today: "Even in death, militants do better than the Pakistani police. Militant groups pay more than $20,000 to the families of suicide bombers, compared with $6,000 given to a policeman's survivor." http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28057057/
Whatever you think of the present war, or the age we are living in, the fact is, the West is loosing...losing the will to fight, loosing the hearts and minds, while fear and hate scar the minds of children to blow themselves up for martyrdom. This instant hero/sainthood fuels the murderous fever. When Pakistan boils over into bloody chaos, from the point of view of anyone, we will all end up in Hell.

3006,
No they're suicide bombers. They implode themselves with a bomb, and simaltaneously commit suicide.
I've yet to see anyone, even the radical left for that matter, show sympathy for any of these as$holes...

"No end in sight"
Sure there is - this is the finished product. "A level of violence Iraqis can live with".
As ordained by the corporate greed muppet that instigated the disaster.
