There is still so much discrimination in the USA towards gays, my friends brother was beaten to a pulp by his own father in the USA when he told his dad that he was gay. So even if your own family hates you, I guess suicide may be the only choice for some of these people, but my friend's brother is now stronger, he looks like the Incredible Hulk, and I would not want to even imagine messing with him.

Not all the gay bashers are bible thumping religious fanatics either. The main issue here is intolerance. Especially with teens its one really messed up situation between learning from what their parents teach them, society teaches them, and trying to fit in with their peers. Women are bit more tolerant of lesbians than men are of gay males, now why on earth is that?

HonestDictator, you know how men can tell what each other are talking about, or those of the same generation or culture--when others don't have a clue?

Women have different ways of expressing discrimination. I didn't know the facts myself until I took a class, spoke to others. Ask anyone that is a minority the differences between expressed discrimination in the North versus the South. Just as an example. Some you have to see to believe.

Why? because ignorance and the bigotry of the church is better? Does the church want the youth to grow up just like them and simply molest and sexually assault little boys instead of thinking homosexuals are people like anyone else?
