  Not too sure about that but he could pull a Lieberman and do it. He is already registered so that side of the 'rules' is OK. The party affiliation thing would be the thing to worry about. But I really see no reason he should even be calling himself a democrat by now - can we call Ladbrooks or Jimmy "the Greek" up in heaven?

  Skip: Speaking of Lieberman, a GOP site that I visit says that Mr. McCain is considering selecting Sen. Lieberman as his running mate. Good choice. I want a Jew whose memory of the Holocaust is still fresh in his mind and who is royally pissed off at all of the Islamoterrosists in the Middle East to be the next in line if something should happen to Mr. McCain. Shalom, Vice President Joe. One heartbeat from the Oval Office.

  Romeo: Like I said, I really don't want to vote for any of the three. I like Lieberman, I respect McCain and I do like Obama - but I can not stand Hillary.

  If Obama took an independent route, I may look at him a bit more positively

  I like that better than when Kerry was considering McCain as his VP in 2004. Lieberman is very likeable (unless you're a DNC party official) and recognizes the Islamic terrorist threat. Plus, it would have the added benefit of ticking off everybody from al-Sharpton to Louis Farrakhan to GeorgeRouault.

  Skip: I agree that the pickings are very slim this time around. No matter who moves into the White House next January, unfortunately, our next President will be some form of a liberal. (BTW: What happened to your push for office? Are you old enough to run (minimum age is 40), or do you also have skeletons waiting to fall out of the closet? ;-))

  Anyway, After seeing who we have to choose from, I'm going to have to go with John McCain for President.

  I have always voted for the person and have not voted for anyone because some political party was telling me who I should vote for.

  We both know the choices now and, that said, I do believe that the process of selecting our chief executive is deeply flawed. The words "money" and "special intersts" come to mind, among many others.

  So, here's the way I see it:

  barack His-Middle-Name-Must-Never-Be-Mentioned obama: an articulate public speaker; no argument there. But growing up, my neighbor had a parrot that was the same way.

  To be honest, it'd be great to finally have an African-American for President. What a great statement that would be to the entire world that we are indeed the greatest country on Earth. But, unfortunately, General Colin Powell is not running, and barack is not the man for this job.

  Barack wants me to believe that he has never heard the sermons of his own pastor, the Right "Rev." "God Damn America" Jeremiah Wright. It is a matter of record that this has been his church for over 20 years. It is a matter of record that he was married there by this very pastor, and that his children were baptized there.

  We have now either read or seen excerpts of his sermons, and barack has publicly stated that this man is his "spiritual mentor".

  but, his "preacher" of hate is not the reason I am not voting for him. His words were disturbing enough, but it is barack's own huge church congregation, seen jumping, hooting and howling to "Rev." Wright's words in the background that disturbs me the most. And please don't tell me barack attended church there and never once heard a discouraging word in the 20 years he was a member of that church. Don't tell me, that in addition to the good reverend, that barack is now not having anything to do with all those other people seen hooting and howling out in the audience in the background of his "Rev."'s fiery tirades.

  Even Oprah Winfrey got disgusted and walked out. I am no Oprah fan, but still she did the right thing.

  Now barack wants me to believe that he never heard such language in all the years he attended?

  Skip, you know full well that if barack had a "R" behind his name the democrats would be calling for his head on a platter.

  Then there's barack's association with William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn. Ayers and Dohrn were leaders of the Weather Underground, a violent group of radical Leftovers from the Revolutionary Youth Movement, a wing of Students for a Democratic Society. Ayers and Dohrn split from the Maoist RYM, insisting that a revolution against the United States and capitalists everywhere should commence immediately.

  In 1969, Ayers and Dohrn were founding signatories of the Weathermen's declaration of unification with the "Black Liberation Movement" and other "anti-colonial" vanguards, to ensure "the destruction of U.S. imperialism and the achievement of a classless world: world Communism."

  In 1970 the Weather Underground issued "Declaration of a State of War" against the United States and commenced a campaign of terror including bombings, jailbreaks, and the instigation of riots.

  Between 1969 and 1975, they bombed the U.S. Capitol twice, the Pentagon, the State Department and several federal courthouses. They also attacked state and local government buildings and "capitalist targets" such as banks. The terrorist organization began to disband after the U.S. withdrawal from Vietnam and the fall of Saigon, though one of their last acts of violence was a Brinks robbery in 1981 in which two police officers and a security guard were murdered during that holdup.

  Yes Skip, we all have friends who have said stupid things that embarrassed us, but now barack is asking American voters to believe that his relationship with two unrepentant terrorists was as if they accidentally bumped into one another at the DMV is so incredibly stupid that he is actually telling the voters that they are stupid enough to believe him. That is the main reason that I will never vote for barack.

  It's really too bad that in a county teeming with enormously talented African-Americans who would make a good President, that the political system has chosen barack. He is a pathetic and plastic excuse for an American. Fortunately, everytime he now opens his mouth he is losing votes.

  And speaking of votes, check out the states barack's "won" during this primary season and you'll see that those victories have come in states that have traditionally voted Republican in the General Election. If you don't think the Supers don't see this, Skip, you need to cut back on drinking the barack-flavored Kool Aid.

  Which next brings us to MRS. WILLIAM JEFFERSON CLINTON, who this candidate really is, in spite of all the other names she may care to call herself.

  Skip, it is just as depressing to realize that there are dozens of women who would also make great Presidents. But, unfortunately, the horrible state of the selection process has selected Mrs. clinton.

  Like her lying POS husband, she is totally incapable of telling the truth. And in voting for her, America would get the both of them all over again. These same folks who could have taken out Osama bin Laden over 3,000 dead Americans ago.

  Her single pathetic platform is to finance the illegal drugs, alcoholism and bad habits of the very lowest and most irresponsible freeloaders in America and to then "garnish the wages" (her own words) of every law-abiding and hard-working American to pay for it. This disaster she refers to as "Universal Health Care".

  Where has she been been the last 30 years? Did she not see that socialism is a failure wherever it has been tried? Did she fail to notice that the Soviet Union collapsed because it gave no reward to those who worked the hardest for the fruits of their own labors to pay for those who would not?

  Yes, Skip, I would vote for a woman, but I would never vote for her.

  Which leaves Senator John McCain.

  As a conservative I admit Mr. McCain is a flawed man and has a notoriously bad temper. This perfectly qualifies him, IMHO, to lead us for the next eight years. I want his finger on the nuclear button.

  Think about it, Skip.

  We have Kim Jong IL, Chavez and Ahmadenijad all running around like lunatics, threatening America and threatening to plunge the world into nuclear Armageddon. I want John McCain in the Oval Office and I want him to be really pissed off at all these other nut jobs around the planet.

  Once Mr. McCain is elected, I want him to go into the Oval Office and throw one of his fits. Jump up and down and throw something through a plate glass window. Rip the drapes down and foam at the mouth a bit. And I want the whole thing on camera so that Ahmadinejad and Kim and Chavez and anyone else who threatens the security of America to see it. I want all of these "world leaders" to lay awake at night and to break out in a cold sweat every time they think of messing with the United States of America.

  I want the nuclear button sitting right next to the alarm clock on his night stand. I want pictures of this to be sent to the leaders of Iran, Russia, China, Venezuela, Cuba, Libya, Syria, and any other Third World stinkholes.

  Finally, Skip, Mr. McCain knows on a most personal level what it is to suffer horrible torture for years and to see others die, right in front of you, for their love of America. When you ask him about it, he will tell you that what he did was "nothing special". Even more incredibly, he states that any American who truly loves his country would do exactly the same as he did in that situation.

  The point is that John McCain believes that about the "average American", and that is why I will cast my one ballot on election day for John McCain -- warts and all.
