The suspect’s Facebook page showed photos of a balding, shaven-headed man with tattoos on his arms, posing with an assault rifle, standing in front of a Confederate flag and making an obscene gesture, local media said.

If he'd run for governor of the state using that as a poster, he'd have been a shoo-in.

I doubt the 17 people shot here really give a damn about a nutcase's perceived rights to own a military type assault rifle.

Well it can't be an assault rifle because in order to be classified as an assault rifle it has to have a fully automatic mode/machine gun mode.

Chances are it is a semi-automatic rifle that is patterned after a military style assault rifle.

What is wrong with owning a military style rifle?
