I guess Murakami-san will just have to wait yet another year. Congratulations to Mrs. Alexievich.

Don't know Alexievich. Anybody? Something about Murakami strikes me as not quite nobel material. It's fun but a bit light on the human condition. Just my opinion. Maybe I need to try a few more of his books though.

And now starts the awarding of the most biased and subjective Nobel Prizes in Literature, Economics, and Peace.

Curious choice. First I'd heard of her. From the blurbs I've read her books sound similar to Studs Terkel's, interviews with people about events they'd experienced. More people will read her books now drawing attention to Belarussia, which has been a mess for a long time. Congratulations to her!
