Syria army, Kurds push IS out of Hasakeh city

Hasakeh city is now also probably just a pile of rubble full of dead people..... What a totally futile war this is.

This is the very first time I have seen a report that the Kurds have been fighting alongside Assad's troops.

This may be the reason that some Turkish units fired at Syrian Kurd positions a couple of days ago. Turkey does not like the present regime in Syria, nor Kurds of any kind.

Add to this the US bombing of IS in support of the Kurds and Syrian govt troops, and we get a more and more complicated picture.

Kurds are also Sunnis. I take it you wanted to say "Arab".

Getting bombed by Turkey while fighting ISIS at the same time, the Kurds have their hands full. I may be wrong but the Kurds appear to make the most gains against ISIS than anyone else.
