    I thought the iron fist was already out.

    The lesson Assad has surely learned from the so-called "Arab Spring" and the fate of several of the toppled governments is there is no such thing as too hard or severe of a fist. It is kill or be killed. Assad needs to follow his father's example and start leveling Islamic rebel towns until the rebels choose life over death.
