NeverSubmit
The Syrian Army has even heavy weapons to flatten every neighborhood that the rebels are hiding in.
What's missing in this article is the fact that the Syrian Army has specifically decided against using heavy weapons in order to minimize civilian casualties.
The rebels are hiding in homes, schools and hospitals and they are non-uniformed combatants, which is specifically against the Geneva Convention. It's extremely difficult for the Syrian army to distinguish between rebels and civilians because the rebels have intentionally decided to hide amongst the city population.
It's a disgusting tactic, but it speaks volumes about the mentality of the foreign rebels and the lack of concern their leader, a Jihadist Muslim by the name of Al-Qaidi, has for the civilian inhabitants of that city.
The rebels will slowly but surely be routed out, Aleppo is the rebels last stand.
NATO, although, seems to be getting increasingly frustrated with their lack of progress in Syria, it's been 18 months and the country is holding together remarkably well and has withstood despite insurmountable odds.
Looks like the NATO tanks lining up along the Syrian border with Turkey are going to be NATOs last resort, an invasion in defiance of international law and everything the UN stands for. Democracy (puppet democracy) at the barrel of a gun.

I can agree with what you say, NeverSubmit, until half-way through, where from "The rebels will", rhetoric takes over. As to the last two paragraphs you deliberately replace the country name Turkey with the word 'NATO', and you ignore what Erdogan has to say about the Assad regime.

Don't worry, Obama has stated with the up most moral indignation that he will not sit around while a Middle Eastern tyrant murders innocents.

NevrSubmit: " It's extremely difficult for the Syrian army to distinguish between rebels and civilians because the rebels have intentionally decided to hide amongst the city population."
How can that be? Just several days ago you reported "The vast majority of Aleppo residents are cheering on their army."
It should be easy to spot the difference between the rebels from loyal citizens cheering on Dear Dictator's minions shouldn't it?

It is a semi-proxy-war. And it is cruel. Among other places, battles have been ranging in a mostly Christian quarter of the city (Bab Toma). America's proxies enjoy logistic backing via a corridor to the Turkish border. A relatively fresh description of the situation in Syria is available from Stephen_Lendman:

Tell that to Hezbollah.

Here is a good link to what is happening inside Aleppo and who the FSA are executing in public there. http://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/features/2012/08/201281112018409533.html

YGHome3,
Gee, thanks again for that link. Did you happen to notice the not one shred of evidence pointing to the US being involved in Syria? For the record I did. I kinda felt the article in your link was as usual as the other article link on that page noting how some 'expert' used the position of the stars to predict how the US markets would perform.
I will say this, without a doubt Syria has been a proxy of Russia. Also, as Madverts correctly has pointed out, Hezbollah is a huge proxy that Syria has its hands in quite deeply, as does Iran.

nandakandamanda,
Very interesting article. Thank you for linking it.

But Hillary has stated clearly that the US will continue to provide assistance to the rebels (i.e.; Al Qaida).
A proxy to do what? Russia is using Syria as a base. What else did you have in mind?
Yes, and the sooner the better; this senseless killing has gone on long enough.

Ciao, (why don't you just keep on poster name, already?) Hillary has never suggested that the US is providing military assistance. The US has been working with the UN and NATO to find a solution. That is the kind of assistance she means. Personally, I am not in favor of US military involvement in Syria. I am also very concerned about the rebels as an unknown alternative. However, you already know that though, don't you?
That is a proxy. Do you really need to have that explained to you?
I agree. It would be nice if the Assad government would also stop with the senseless killing.

The US, under the leadership of France and Britain, helped Libya. The US is not helping Syria. Hillary is just sitting around watching the slaughter.

Tell that to Hezbollah.
You can always count on NeverSubmit to give us the Propagated spin version of the Assad all-star team. Can't wait to read Tomorrows headline and we all know how it'll be spun. Even when the rebels get Assad and they have a missile shoved up his galaxy index with photos to show, count on NeverSubmit to give you a different version of what is actual REALLY happening. Kinda like the John Edwards fiasco. Oh, by the way, I heard that Al Qaida is worming themselves into this slaughter as well and trying to get a foothold in Syria, it that's case, Syria's problem just got more complicated. Assad, Hezbollah, Al Qaida, this is freakin' scary!
