"Our children are getting ready for jihad" That's great, if this guy's a father he sure is doing well by his own children. What is it that propels these people? Is it islam's fault or a misinterpretation twisted for their own purpose? The truth is most of these jihadis are just power hungry, morally bankrupt, backwards men. I am not a believer which is a shame because I would like to think that this guy and all of his buddies will rot in hell.

Oh yeah, more of the "Religion of peace" campaigns. Pakistan has nuclear weapons. We don't need the Taliban and the rest of their crazy fundamentalist ilk getting control of the country cos I'm pretty sure they have no qualms about using it on any "kufar". Pakistans government had better get some help and fast.

This is quite a frightening story. Many communities in many countries are going to be intimidated into letting these religious extremists have their way. Obama needs to make Afghanistan and the Taliban one of his highest priorities.

War and violence are not a lasting solution to anything, but these Talibani terrorists need to exterminated. I feel sorry for India, having these nut cases right next door. Pakistan needs more help to fight against all of the terrorists hiding in that country, and the UK must do more to root out all of those British born Talabani supporting citizens who are native English speakers but also fluent in Urdu etc..and make great spies for the Taliban, Al Qaeda etc...

Obama needs to make Afghanistan and the Taliban one of his highest priorities.

Bush/Cheney must be relieved that someone else will have to deal with what they avoided - and a Liberal at that. Obama should send them peace envoys and insist they stay until they get results.

Islam has a long history of beheading. The cult's founder had his enemies beheaded. It's in the Q'uran.

Gee, I am so glad we pushed the Taliban into Pakistan.

Seems to me that if we had just gotten bin Laden and al-Quaida and gotten out of Afghanistan instead of trying to build a nation there, this would not be happening.

Way to go, Taliban! That'll win the people's hearts and minds!

Beheading only wins minds on the extreme Left. See the comment at 12:39.

Not true. There have been numerous wars that brought about lasting solutions.

Not sure if you read, but its Muslims being attacked here by a minority of Taliban. The problem is with the Taliban, not Islam.

You are the only person here foolish enough to think that the advice of letting sleeping dogs lie is out of love for the dog.

I really would not have cared how roughly we pushed the Taliban aside to get al-Quaida in Afghanistan. We just did not need to hang around and try and defeat them too. Do you really think there is no correlation to that impossible goal and today's news? My proverb for you is: Don't bite off more than you can chew.

Not too sure about a good place to test the nukes, but we have lots of new weapons that need testing.

    techall

sharky1, no need to test, we know ours work fine. But I see your point, maybe just a bit more discriminating, just a bit.

Let's not forget that the general population runs into the Taliban's arms when a US air strike goes off target. At least that's what people tell me.

Technically speaking, what you wrote is correct. That is the proverb. Please allow me to modify it so that it is more applicable in this case:

Don't bite off more than other people can chew on your behalf.

    Much better, I think.

In case you missed it, the Taliban strictly follow islamic teachings. Fact is, the relatively secular government of Pakistan has no leg to stand on when discussing the Taliban on religious grounds. So, as long as discussion of islam is taboo, the islamic fundamentalists will continue to win.

Nope, it works. It strikes fear in the heart of the enemies of islam. It is a well-proven recipe that Chairman Mao also discovered: Kill one and educate a thousand.
