I say threaten the Taliban. If any fingers are cut off then will attack your Heroin fields or their bases directly.

Time for British and American troops to get out of there. The President is corrupt, and merely a puppet put in place by the Americans. The govermnent and legal system is also corrupt. I say get out now and leave them to it. The Taliban are evil monsters, born out of evil extreme Islamism. They have no place in the civilised world. Blanklet-bomb their hideaways and then leave.

Cut and run policies,where much alive in pro-taliban policies and in pro-Karzai/Abdullah policies.

Afghan people must rise up against all forms injustices,subjucations and corruptions.

The leaders in govt and also in the taliban ruled areas, need to pay back afghans for all loss.

I read elsewhere that 4.5 million people registered to vote. This article says millions voted. So....the turnout wasn't that bad, was it? What with the finger cutting thing, the folks are pretty brave.

Big littleman - before the heroic invasion unleashed by the bush administration and the coalition of the schilling, the Taliban had all but eradicated opium production.

It's only since we began our glorious war of revenge without end that production has increased by 900%.

I would opt for the thumbs, the index, and the middle finger. Then throw them in prison for a couple decades and let them wallow in their own filth and self pitty.

I can not understand the minds of these people. How they allow the Taliban to run roughshod and get away with this. I can't understand why they haven't done away with them themselves.

Do we have this much crime in America and we don't hear about it? I heard we have loads of kidnappings in the Phoenix area. It's drug related, but I didn't know about that.

Do the Afghanistan people not know and we just get this news out to the US to rile us up? < :-)

Right first time, Sarge - although I don't see the funny side of generating a 900% increase of opium production.
