"a region Obama calls the real central front against terrorism"
Yes, thanks to the previous administration, the terrorists have largely failed in Iraq, which they had made the central front in their war against civilization, so they've shifted to Afghanistan and Pakistan.

I love it, The Taliban has never been in Iraq. Al-Quaeda wasn't there either as the previous administration falsely claimed they were.
The only terrorist in Iraq was george bush's goals and aspirations.
10,000 to 15,000 may not be many to you, but that's just the ones that take the calling of Taliban. That doesn't include the sympathizors. The abettors.
Too bad we took our eye off the target and went to Iraq. < :-)

This bean counting is ridiculous. How do they define "fighter"? Every madrassa student is a potential Taliban fighter.
What the Taliban has is a complete ideology which calls for eternal war on the kuffars and the kuffar lifestyle (that is us, and our lifestyle), and does not accept defeat, never ever.
And we have decided that we must not take on this ideological challenge. So however more troops Obamas sends into this mess, the Taliban comes out on top.

Radical, extremist Islam. Something that Iraq under Saddam Hussein most certainly was not.
