As long as the limited military success means that the Taliban don't get back in power then I'm alright with it.

The Taliban are awful, but at least they fight arm to arm combat and do not do cowardly missile attacks on wedding parties etc as has happened so often in the past.

Bushlover, I totally agree with you on this one, though MildredRoper's are more 'short-sighted' than 'leftie'. What happened in Iraq was stupid, but we need to be in Afghanistan for the long haul.

I'm sorry how often do they occur? So this is better then car bombs that kill civilians in the dozens that they do each week or the or hundreds of IEDs that they leave on the roads that kill hundreds of Afghans each month?

I'm sorry to say dude for your little imagination but NATO fights arm to arm combat, they only use air power in support. That means NATO is already engaged in arm to arm fighting.

I think it's more cowardly when fighters don't wear distinguishing marks that distinguish themselves from non-fighters.

If a fighter truly believes in his/her cause, then be proud of the mark that symbolizes that cause. Show the mark; don't hide it.

You should study your own history. Check your own Religion! And search for questions about the proper, Biblically-sanctioned way to sell your daughters into slavery and stone your children when they disobey? Ask your local religious leader or check the neighborhood motel desk drawer.

Taliban leader tells 'invaders' to study history

I checked their history today and seems that the people responsible for the problems in Afghanistan are the British and the Russians. The US played its part of problem causing at a later stage, and at least they are trying to help now.

The word "nation" or "country" cannot be applied to an entity like Afghanistan. Its border basically functions to mark off the boundaries within which various forms of chaos occur.
