    No worries, things will be alright soon.

    How does this group keep growing?

  • rjd_jr at 01:12 PM JST - 17th June

    What happened apparently was that the U.S. and others screwed things up royally in Afghanistan. They got lax in securing the kind of alliances and partnerships with the various factions in Afghanistan that could have proved a thorn to the Taliban.

    what I meant was how are they recruiting new people? What is so special about them that makes one want to turn to such strict religion that the Taliban practices. It's like not believing in a god but then joining a devil worship group.

    This is where we went to fight the war on terror. This is the war we damn sure better to be concerned about. This is why we're at war to begin with.

    But we are allowing them to lose there because we lost sight of the real war, and by chois, decided to take the greatest part of our military and attacked a virtually defenseless country. < :-)

    "It's like not believing in a god but then joining a devil worship group."

    Nah, for them it's probably great. They get to drive a pick-up truck, brandish a Klashnikov, crap on their women and impose their middle-aged "law" on anyone who isn't part of the Taliban.

    If Bush Co had managed to stay the course here this embarassment may have been avoided. Sadly they moved on to Iraq and made an even bigger mess.

    "Hey, but violence is down in Iraq"

    Wrong thread, dude.

    "Global whack-a-mole"

    Sure, belittle our troops' efforts to capture or kill our enemies. Sheesh.

    Uh, sarge;

    "Sure, belittle our troops' efforts to capture or kill our enemies. Sheesh."

    It was Bush and his supporters that belittled the troops' efforts when attention and resources were diverted to the fiasco in Iraq, rather than finishing the job in Afghanistan.

    Bring the troops back here where they should be and back from Iraq, we might win this war. Other than that, we'll be just like the Russians and leave just to keep from loosing any more money and troops. < :-)
