Well I think that's a good thing. If you take out a commander another one fills his shoes, but keep doing that over and over and you end up with lesser qualified people in power positions. The more you disrupt their chain of command (while adding in some infighting as to who will be next in line) the better off we all are. It's not a complete strategy but it's effective towards the end goal and the more headlines like this the better.

I agree with both Dearjohn and Superlib, but I would like to add, there will be no fundamental change in Pakistan until the hearts and minds of the average Pakistani undergo a dramatic change, now many Pakistanis refuse to believe that fellow Muslim Pakistanis are behind the horrible atrocities happening night and day around their country and insist on putting the blame on ISRAEL and the United States of America??? It sounds absurd to us in the West but to the average bloke in Karachi, Lahore etc..they somehow feel the USA and Israel are behind all the violence in their country, so if they believe this kind of non sense, it is not surprising they will continue to support the Taliban, Alqaeda etc..and see them as fellow suppressed Muslims having to defend themselves against the big bad invading infidels from the USA, Israel, NATO etc...who are of mainly Christian origin.

A good theory that reality proves does not work. Sometimes the guy with the power is not as bright as his successor when it comes to actual warfare. There is no certainty in anything with new blood. And the ghosts of martyrs are notoriously hard to fight. Worse, you assume we can keep getting the leaders over and over. Sooner or later one is going to figure out how not to get killed if this keeps going on. This is not natural selection, but it is Darwinian.
