Cool!! Gorby is still alive and kicking! He is the father of perestroika and glasnost! I bet these are words that Putin must not like, but hey, Russia is trying to be a democracy, so here we go! Good luck to the good people of Russia!

I fully support his call on this. I have read his book in the past and I really like him. He believes in democracy for Russians. Go Gorbachev!!

Putin doesn't have to heed the words of a sell out and loser like Mikhail Gorbachev. Remember, Gorby has been living high on Western, Liberal charity ever since he sold out his country. As for the few thousands that showed up to bitch, they are an insignificant minority that the West is trying to balloon into another "color" movement revolution. We high-information voters aren't that stupid. As for Kasparov, just another disgruntled, rabble rousing Jew who is angry that a fellow tribesman (Kordokovsky) is in prison for crimes against the Russian people. I'm going to laugh hysterically over his anguish when Putin is elected to his third term. Long live Putin! Long live a strong, independent Russia!

@Bebert61,
Sorry you didn't get the message. Auditions for the upcoming film *Scrooge vs. Grinch *were last week. It's a shame you put so much time into perfecting your impersonation of the main character. Now, which one were you again?
"I'm going to laugh hysterically over his anguish"
Are you talking about Kordokovsky or a stray animal that you lured into your house?

TENS (!) of thousand of protesters!? Is this a joke? Are we talking about Russia or Finland? There are 13 million living only in Moscow. I am surprised how much attention is given to this pity demonstration. Even with 70% of popularity there are millions of Russians, who vote against Putin. The photos posted here, however, show red flags and communist symbolics. So, ten thousand communists came out to ask Putin to go. They also got more seats in the Russian parliament this year, as far as I know. Well, for the sake of Russians, I hope that Putin stays. At least that he would not surrender to communists or such. Sorry, all communist lovers, who posted here...

I know some posters do not want to believe this, but Putin is no angel, he has lots and lots of BLOOD on his hands, killing off his own people etc..so maybe this is why so many people are pissed off at him.

This a great episode in Russian history and it has happened before... back in 1917 and even before then, when many thousands rose up and protested against the Czars. Now, it is Putin... and I really don't think he is a schoolboy when it comes to politics and the running of Russia. Yes, there are thousands who oppose him, but the majority still supported United Russia and will probably vote for Putin in March. What we are seeing here are the new freedoms brought about by Mevdevev, who recognized the political reform was necessary in order to rid the country of corruption and improve every aspect of the state and society in general.. Putin didn't become the West's puppet like Yeltsin did, he stood firm and rebuilt the country into what it is today...because he knew the real stratagem is US dominance of even Russia itself. Russia is and will always be Russian and nobody will ever dictate to them how to run their country. How would you like it if a foreign government was trying to influence the elections in the US? What about all the people in the US getting arrested in the OWS protests, getting beat up by police, tear gassed, a few ended up killed by the "authorities" ..... do I see role reversals being played out here?? My hats off to the "new" Russian democracy. The bear has awakened.
