“It is totally unacceptable to have such a monster like Adolf Hitler on public display,” he told the Post. “How this could happen is beyond my understanding and comprehension.”

Oh brother. What planet is this guy living on? Wax museums have ALWAYS had Hitler and a few Jack the Rippers more or less. Doesn't Tussauds have a Hitler? Has anyone noticed that Thailand has a lot of foreigners who are either German or Jewish? I know a few who are either and some others who are both. I would imagine that this issue caused a minor explosion there.

There are both a lot of Jewish and German tourists in Thailand. I've never figured out why there are so many.

I think he was complaining about the public display of the billboard, not the wax sculpture in the musuem.

“We think he is an important historical figure, but in a horrible way."

So lets put him on a huge billboard to attract German and Jewish tourists, instead of say another non-horrible historical figure, complete with the caption Hitler is not dead!!

People who use Hitler as an ad gimmick are basically getting him to endorse their product without having to pay for it. A cheap shot.

In 1998, a commercial for potato chips depicted Hitler giving a Nazi salute and then showed a woman who cast a spell on him as he ate the chips, hoping to change his evil ways. A Nazi swastika morphed into the product logo as the transformation was complete.

That caption was in bad taste, I have to say. Though even without it, I can understand the complaints. Having a wax figure of him isn't really the issue.

beyond your understading?

i don't know how long this guy has been an ambassador in thailand.

i guess, this guy haven't learn any basic thai's culture, and understand next to nothing about the country he is diplomatically working in.

ask any thais in thailand if they every know what hitler have done in WWII or show them chaplins and hiler photos and ask who is who!
