    So the "People’s Alliance for Democracy" have proposed "discarding direct elections of lawmakers in favour of appointing most legislators".

    Not very democratic is it? Yet the government stands by and lets them bus more people into the airport. If they prevented people, food and water from getting to the airport the siege would be over by now.
