I admire the American banker for his take on the situation. He's right, it could be a lot worse than it is. I just pray it won't get that way.
It is indeed a crisis for Thailand, but the people have spoken (seems they have done so a lot the past couple years), and it's time for the man in charge to relinquish that power. He's never going to win. This is going to cripple Thailand just before the biggest tourist season. I've already spoken to dozens of Japanese who have cancelled trips there (tours have all been canned), and given that Bangkok is about the largest hub in Asia after Hong Kong, it's not good at all for foreign investment, etc.

All protesters should go home and wait for the next election whether you people like this current government or not.

tclh, Totalitarian governments worldwide salute you. On topic: the fact that the military is not getting involved (yet) is a good thing. It shows the strength of the political system and of the man in charge of the military.

Travel to bangkok/bombay shut down by political protests and by a political deccan gang killing 100 over people in bombay, india. Both bangkok and bombay people need to work out their woes via good wise responses.

It seems you misunderstood the situation. "The people" have spoken and as a result Wongsawat is the democratically elected prime minister. The problem is rather, that "the people" is deeply divided and the - not so small - minority now tries to impose their view by force again, like they did with the military coup before already.
