His name should be on the ballot.

He isn't gone yet he's sorely missed already.

A historic president. I'm not even American and I'm proud.

.....then you have no clue how well Obama screwed many domestic issues up. The global issues are known.

every minute Obama spends talking about Trump is a minute wasted

Trump has pushed his campaign to the extreem.

Trump is really not a nice man.

What a waste.

Bigots and Ignorance.

Trump is a danger to the credibility of the US - even worse than Palin's inane gibbering alongside McCain. Bush was an embarrassment and a joke on the world stage but probably not to this level.

The candidate from this crackpot party deserves an absolute thrashing in the election. Humiliate these ridiculous people.

Jimizo

Trump. Palin. McCain. Bush.

All Republicans.

1 ( +7 / -6 )

yup, Cruz isn't any better.

The neo-republicans are a massive joke to the large majority of the rest of the world, one that isn't very funny given the effect the US has throughout the rest of the world.

They could talk about fiscal responsibility or limitations of government, yet the only thing the current batch seem interested in is calling each other names, bashing anything that a democrat has ever done, stirring up religious conservatives and sadly fairly successfully revealing that selfish, racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, bible thumpers are not just a stereotype but alive and well.

8 ( +14 / -6 )

And cutting taxes for the rich.

Never forget that.

A historic president. I'm not even American and I'm proud.

Please share what you think he's accomplished. Hope and change is only an idea, and I haven't see any change in the last 35 years in foreign policy while middle class wages have been stagnant for even longer. Now if you want to be a freeloader with an EBT card, then yes.

-3 ( +13 / -16 )

I think this message of Pres Obama is unnecessary as GOP has been trying to cope Trump problem without asking to US gov't. Furtherumore, when Dem candidates Clinton and Sanders are operating remarkably clean campaign. Gov't disruption will affect their excellent chance to be elected as next president. His speech will increase more Trump supporters. Just my opinion.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Obama the post dignity POTUS. He always was better at running for office than actually leading while in office.

-3 ( +7 / -10 )

"Trump’s continued petulant behavior and willful ignorance on a host of critically important issues is scaring the bejesus out of more than just the political establishment."

"His latest spat with Ted Cruz over their wives, his bizarre obsession with discrediting a female reporter who was manhandled by his campaign manager even after he was charged with simple battery, and his most recent comments on punishing women who have illegal abortions are just the latest examples of why 73 percent of women have an unfavorable opinion of Trump."

source: 'The Tyranny of Trump’s Minority'

Obama can rely on Trump to continue Trumpian buffoonery.

What everyone should be most concerned about is when Trump's thumpers start the bang-bang for freedom thing. Scary bunch of dopes, with guns.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Icon't think this message is related to Obama is poor or Trump earn $2 Billion a year, Obama wanted shut up Trump for something Trump does not know.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

"73 percent of women have an unfavorable opinion of Trump."

President Obama isn't running for office, 'Obama's campaigners who were bullies,' really?

And don't forget Watergate.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

I wish he'd wait until they nominate the loon...

Perhaps not coincidental that Obama remained aloof until Trump began to falter. One sure way to rile up any Republican candidate's fanboys is criticism by the black president. If Obama can help Trump limp across the convention finish line with a plurality but not majority, all the better.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Obama is more like the anti-American rather than the anti-Trump.

-10 ( +5 / -15 )

Obama has been wrong on so many things - he has jumped to conclusions publicly. He speaks too soon. On the Professor Gates case, Trayvon Martin, etc. Jumped right in and was dead wrong and even unsupportive of police. Very bad to have a big-mouth for a President.

-12 ( +5 / -17 )

Obama is one of the best presidents ever. And he's spot on again in regards to Trump.

6 ( +16 / -10 )

Please Mr. Obama, please come rescue us from the terrible fate we have coming. We need 8 more years of your wonderful economy, another $150 Billion for the Iranian bomb builders, perhaps a few thousand more nasty Euros blown up by the not to be mentioned Islamic Extremists. I we can just get a few more million poor folks to give up looking for work, the unemployment rate may get down to a great level. And it only cost us more than $8 Trillion added to the national debt! What a man, that Nobel Peace prize they gave you for getting elected was so richly deserved.

-9 ( +8 / -17 )

while his domestic programs have languished and stalled because of republican obstructionism, his foreign policy has been a train wreck that can only be blamed on him. yes, restarting relations with cuba and the iran deal were good, but the middle east has spiraled out of control due to his unwillingness to punish countries who cross his red lines (think syria) and his fear of commiting troops overseas. so to say lavsih obama with praise ignores the many misteps he has made internationally.

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

Hee hee - appears some newbie extremists have crawled out of the woodwork. They'll find there is a yuge difference between mouthing off on JT and reality. Obama should criticize Trump: The man is a menace to America and the globe, and American allies need to be reassured that the Trumpian brand of crazed xenophobia still does not represent America. Should this rally his faltering supporters to get him through to Ohio - well, that's all the better.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

Trump is not selected yet. Obama shouldn't mddle GOP business if he want DEM candidate to be competing efficiently.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

.....then you have no clue how well Obama screwed many domestic issues up. The global issues are known.

Exactly.

The problem is, once again, we have Obama stepping into the political arena, where he should stay out. He's on his way out, he's busy doing other things as a statesman primarily, going to ball games, play golf and do the tango. One of the absolute worst president since Hoover and Carter. The man has always been pretty much anti-American, but he wants to get involved in this campaign cycle.

A Trump victory in the presidential race would mark an overwhelming rebuke to Obama and the likely demise of many of his policies.

That's right, the problems that have risen up because of his disastrous policies are the reason for a person like Trump or even a Sanders to come on the political scene.

So with Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders still fighting it out in the Democratic primary, it has fallen increasingly to Obama to take on Trump in ways that no other Democrat can.

Hypocrite! Everywhere else this guy has been incognito and now he wants to take on the mantel of trying to (in vain) to see if he can in some way, sabotage or circumvent the political system, do whatever it takes to cheat the people and voters of what they want? Once this guy is gone, the nation can really start to heal and hopefully the division that he and the Democrats with their racism and bully tactics will come to an end. November can't come soon enough for this guy! The constant drumbeat and panic from the left to block democracy for anything that is NOT on the liberal progressive bandwagon is the real threat to this country.

-9 ( +5 / -14 )

Wild racist fantasy comments full of vague "Obama doesn't care about X or Y" vague mind-reading attempts and "He screwed up things domestically" with zero facts or examples to back them up only make Barack Obama look even more dignified and statesmanlike in comparison. Americans apparently don't have memories longer than three or so years or maybe they're just incredibly selective on what they choose to remember. You guys give your game away every time you post-- you've hated having a black president. You're the ones who have been divisive and obsessed with Barack Obama all along and you project way too much. Calm down. He's leaving a US largely in much better shape than the one your darling Bush left us with. More people are working, your taxes are the same, we've had only the usual hiccups here and there, you still have your precious guns. I know you're kind of angry same-sex marriage passed and we weren't able to go to war with Iran but hey, maybe either Donald Trump or Ted Cruz will get himself elected somehow and make white people-- er-- America great again. Then you can have your bomb-o-rama and your End Times and crash the economy again while big business and oil companies openly loot the middle class and Fox News convinces you to blame it all on illegal immigrants and welfare recipients. Not that you need much convincing.

@nakanoguy

What red line has Syria crossed? Are you talking about the gas attack that was proven to be a CIA operation and how the MSM blared it on teevee after the fact only to look stupid when the truth came out?

-7 ( +4 / -11 )

Supporters and drones of Obama, do you recall how inexperienced he was in 2008? The man was selected and it worked. Obama's own personal agenda was sidetracked to appease those behind the scenes.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

I don't know why Obama bothers...the people voting for Trump probably don't like him anyway...so his opinion on Trump won't have any sway in the election process.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Blacks have been hit the hardest during this Obama presidency. Obama trying to interject himself in this election cycle is just going to drive up more Trump supporters.

http://www.ijreview.com/2014/12/220847-obama-claims-black-america-better-off-but-facts-say-otherwise/

Here are some basic facts about life in black America under President Barack Obama:

In spite of Obama’s $275 billion in housing-market bailouts, home ownership has waned. In the first quarter of 2009, 67.3% of Americans owned homes. By 1Q 2014, the Census Bureau figure was 64.8%.

Black home ownership has sagged from 46.1% in 2009 to 43.3% in 2014. The poverty rate for blacks is now 25.8%.

Fewer than half of young black men are working a full-time job.

The black workforce is decreasing, down from 58.6% in June 2007 to 52.8% in August 2012.

The median minority family’s income is now almost fifth lower than it was when Obama took office with a net worth of just $18,100.

In contrast, white median wealth has increased by 1% to $142,000.

In 2009, white households were 7 times richer than black households. Now, white households are 8 times richer.

This is the result and the reward that one of the biggest voting block for Obama gets.

This is another reason why the Obama presidency was a complete failure and since Blacks were hit the hardest and that many of them see that illegal immigration in the country and most of these illegals are settling in Black and other lower income minority areas, Blacks are the first to feel the pinch when many are shoved aside to make way for illegals that will take a lot of jobs for less pay, further eroding the dreams and prospects of other disenfranchised Blacks. Blacks and Whites and many Native born Hispanics are tired of the policies that have crippled the country and lowered median household incomes, stagnant wages, out of control debt and Trump is trying to change that, his rhetoric is strong and salty, but when you have 55 million people and the number is growing and more now that people can see what Obama is doing, his actions to involve himself in this political cycle are deepening the division in this country.

-9 ( +6 / -15 )

I think Obama is a little too articulate and thoughtful for most conservatives. They tend to be more of the crowd that responds to "the end of America is near" and "we need freedom from the gays" and "carpetbomb Syria." That's not really Obama's style and he probably ends up talking over their heads a bit when he discusses policy. Most conservatives I meet on here and elsewhere tend to have a black and white view of the world.

6 ( +10 / -5 )

We've seen for the last 7 almost 8 years, Obama's so-called intellect is subject to some serious scrutiny and has caused tremendous damage to the country and to the people, sure, it has been great for everyone else, BUT Americans. It has nothing to do with Black or White and everything to do with right or wrong. Democrats have been way too busy focusing on political correctness, keeping the Democratic party in power a lot more than the country or the people.

-7 ( +4 / -11 )

@bass4funk: you should know by now for liberals the facts don't matter and this site is just nest for libs to validate their own insecurities. JAPAN TODAY could show a photo of Obama stepping on the US flag and you would see crazy lib comments about he did it to show solidarity with Black Lives Matter...

-4 ( +6 / -10 )

I think Obama is a little too articulate and thoughtful for most conservatives.

Obama is playing 11-dimensional chess, while Republicans seem challenged in even finding two sticks to rub together. And it's not just tactics, Lib - the mental comprehension of the party no longer coheres. And it also seems not simply cognitive dissonance - there seems to be a willful, almost gleeful rejection of manifest reality. Rejecting the existence of global warming or the pernicious effects of weapons are examples of willful ignorance of danger, but they can't even bring themselves to acknowledge the good, such as the success of Obamacare exceeding even its designers or the huge success of the American economy in relation to other developed nations (see the third chart in this link: http://econsnapshot.com/2015/01/26/world-prices/ ).

Obama must be having himself a little chuckle as he helps to nudge the GOP off the stage of long-term consequence, but really, it's only a nudge: They're eager enough to go over the cliff on their own.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

@Laguna

Trumpian brand of crazed xenophobia

Trump himself should be the first to leave America...

6 ( +6 / -0 )

I think Obama is a little too articulate and thoughtful for most conservatives. They tend to be more of the crowd that responds to "the end of America is near" and "we need freedom from the gays" and "carpetbomb Syria."

Probably the most silly thing you've ever wrote since Obama has been trying to overthrow Assad for 5 years.

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

I don't use medication just cough droop when I go to Bingo center and video poker playing once in a week so that I don't make. Noise.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Republicans aren't really leaders like they used to be. They are more concerned with pumping the bubble dwellers full of talking points while they fall on their faces in their attempts to make any policy. You will see hundreds of comments here from bubble dwellers about the economy but not a single one of them comments on how the GOP civil war prevents them from passing a budget. They aren't interested in what holds their party back when they have another clever EBT comment to make.

One could say that Republicans have the leadership they deserve. Fractured, broken, racist/sexist, and unable to put for any kind of meaningful legislation. If my party were in that condition I suppose I'd pick a GOP lightening rod to talk about every day. Instead we did things like pass a healthcare plan, present an immigration plan, etc.

I used to ask what the GOP has accomplished over the last 7 years but finally stopped since none of the bubble dwellers would even attempt an answer. They don't deal with GOP accomplishments, just carpet bombing. And remember, Obama hates the US and might be a secret Muslim. That's much more important to talk about that replacing Obamacare.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

Whew! I'm gonna hafta comb my hair.

Glad I'm not a republican otherwise I might have to cut my veins. lol

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

To be fair, neither of the establishment leaders are what they used to be, for far too long have these groups have taken advantage of the people and from the system and their oaths to uphold the constitution and work for their constituents. The people living and thriving in the bubble are the people that are devoid of facts and are unwilling to see and acknowledge the truth of what is happening out there and again, this is the reason for the Trump phenomenon. When has Obama and his admin. tried to bring ANY high paying jobs back? When has Obama waged war on the tech industry to cut down on the H-1B visas that have been killing jobs in this country? High paying skilled jobs? It's no wonder so many people can't get off welfare and the people on food stamps and EBT cards is at an all time high, something that Obama will definitely be remembered for.

One could say that Republicans have the leadership they deserve. Fractured, broken, racist/sexist, and unable to put for any kind of meaningful legislation.

They deserve? So that means, the people have deserved the failed policies of the last 7 years? They deserved the racism, the division, the PC in the country, so bad that people are now walking on egg shells, particularly white people. What gets me is that Democrats and Liberals in the last 7 years have NEVER, EVER held Obama accountable for ANYTHING! A president that has been polarizing, that would shield any wrongdoing of anyone in his cabinet, who himself was shielded by Eric Holder and this hostile and poisonous environment was passed down to the people, the hate and vitriol. The constant playing the race card issue, the sexist issue. No wonder a guy like Trump can tap into the anger of the people and see what the president and the rest of the Democratic party has failed to see, other than trying to keep a majority and win elections, that's as far as the optics of that party goes, nothing more.

The GOP had an uphill battle with a president that was so far left and so hateful, never wanted to sit down and meet on anything in the center with the GOP. The GOP are also responsible for allowing Obama to get away with a lot of things, but "Harry Reid" would do everything he could to BLOCK EVERY legislation that would come to Obama's desk over 352 of them, but liberals either don't know that, don't want to admit and deal with it or want to lie about it. This is the crux why things didn't get done in this administration and NOW Obama wants to take on the role as a political adviser because he's scared out of his wits? Obama has obstructed and circumvented the constitution enough and now he wants and feels he has the duty to interject himself into the political process? His time is almost up, he needs to sit back and allow the process to take its course without hearing an input from him.

-7 ( +5 / -12 )

A historic president. I'm not even American and I'm proud.

Of course you are. He is trying to make America become like the rest of the world, therefore very appealing to you because you aren't an american.

That's not what america is all about.

Probably the most silly thing you've ever wrote since Obama has been trying to overthrow Assad for 5 years.

Ha-ha. Good one Fizz

Democrats have been way too busy focusing on political correctness

Exactly. Remember after the Ferguson riots, Obama wanted to demilitarize law enforcement agencies across the country. Taking away their toys. How do you expect them to quell animals who love looting and rioting?

-10 ( +4 / -14 )

Obama would be able to win a third term he's so good. His approval rate is so high he would be stupid NOT to help out (unlike the previous president).

3 ( +8 / -5 )

"One of the absolute worst president since Hoover and Carter."

Strange chronology there. I think you'll find Richard Nixon and George W Bush left office with the worst approval ratings of the post-war presidents. I know you couldn't care less what people think and trust the evaluations of 'non-partisan' historians. Could you please name these historians for my reference? I like history.

I think you'll find doing the tango infuriates people less than crooks, failed bloodbaths and crashed economies. I can't for the life of me think why.

I hope your historians can help me towards a rethink.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

Carter? I admit the guy didn't exactly encourage people to go out and go shopping but look at his career track and you will be impressed. And how many wars under Carter? Bush 1st knew what he was doing too with foreign policy.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

American blacks voted for Obama but he hasn't helped them at all. In fact, their net worths are much worse, so he has no room to complain about Trump.

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

Taking away their toys. How do you expect them to quell animals who love looting and rioting?

Spot on! Though painted by the GOP as a lame duck, Obama continues to use the power of the presidency to take away the toys of companies who would evade their duties by "inverting," or moving the headquarters to a lower-tax country by buying a smaller company. For example, Obama has taken away this toy: foreign tax benefits, if 60 percent of the merged company’s shareholders were also shareholders of the original U.S. parent company. And this toy: earnings stripping, lending money to a U.S.-based subsidiary and repaying the debt with tax-deductible interest. An immediate result of taking away these toys was that Pfizer’s called off its plan plan to merge Allergan and reincorporate in Ireland to avoid $35 billion in taxes owed to the U.S.

https://www.treasury.gov/press-center/press-releases/Pages/jl2645.aspx

Better than executive action would be for Congress to legislate - ha ha ha! Sorry, the GOP has no plan to take away toys, as even the uber-conservative site Newsmax admits:< http://www.newsmax.com/Finance/Economy/republicans-gop-tax-inversion-overseas-profits/2016/04/06/id/722513/>

So, sorry, Wc, if you want to take away the toys of significance, it's Obama or nothing.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

"His name won’t be on November’s ballot, but Obama is slowly embracing his role as the anti-Trump"

Isn't Lyin' Ted Cruz the anti-Trump?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

What do foreign tax benefits, earnings, strippings etc. have to do with deploying Light Armored Vehicles? And officers using tear gas and riots shields to stop looters?

Those looters, I tell ya, they're getting enough "free" stuff anyways.

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

What do foreign tax benefits, earnings, strippings etc. have to do with deploying Light Armored Vehicles?

Good question, Wc! Hint: follow the money! Rioting is nickle-and-dime; tax evasion is where the billions come in. Democrats want the wealthy to pay their fair share to create a society in which police usage of light armored vehicles are not necessary. Republicans simply want more armored vehicles, light or heavy.

My link on the previous post was broken; here it is again: http://www.newsmax.com/Finance/Economy/republicans-gop-tax-inversion-overseas-profits/2016/04/06/id/722513/

Do you see any hope there, Wc? Do you understand how Obama is playing 11-dimensional chess while the GOP can't find two sticks to rub together? If not, I'd be happy to provide more examples.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Do you see any hope there, Wc? Do you understand how Obama is playing 11-dimensional chess while the GOP can't find two sticks to rub together? If not, I'd be happy to provide more examples.

Wow. That was deep Laguna. I see your point. cat got me tongue. I wasn't looking at the big picture. I'm in a bubble (LoL).

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

Democrats give toys to the poor and so a woman makes as much getting welfare and her free benefits as a woman who WORKS 40 hours a week making $69,000. This adds up when you have millions on welfare. The Japanese realized this but the US Democrats could care less. I worked for the government and they encourage the idle to sit and learn nothing but give bureaucrats no competition. What a joke the Democrats are.

-7 ( +3 / -10 )

Straight to the establishment, take away his Twitter app and Facebook page. Women have the Republican shifts to battle and support the weight of the Republicans! I'm Independent so,My vote goes to Bernie! Cheers, Sensei

0 ( +1 / -1 )

The wealthy DO pay their fair share - they pay far more than their share? We have been entrepreneurs and paid out much more than our fair share of taxes. Have you liberals? I think not. This is what Trump understands. We paid out $12,000 on just one home speculation project and the infrastructure was not used not to mention that we hired many people and provided them with income for the duration of the project. The government NEEDS the wealthy and businesses. If they do not have business, THEY (the Government) is OUT OF BUSINESS.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

Do you see any hope there, Wc? Do you understand how Obama is playing 11-dimensional chess while the GOP can't find two sticks to rub together?

Hilarious! You seem to think Dems and Reps are divided, but they both take the Corporate/Banker money.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

More money is being sent out of the country by immigrants and so they are disliked. So, what is the difference if Americans send out their businesses? What is the difference?????? Americans always get punished the most. Immigrants get to skate.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Immigrants get to skate.

Its like a disease . . . . everyone wants all this "free" stuff. Its like going to a pot luck BYOB get together. But when you get there Jose and Tyrone (who showed up with nothing) are going for 2nd's and complaining about the beer you brought to the party.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

Its like a disease . . . . everyone wants all this "free" stuff. Its like going to a pot luck BYOB get together. But when you get there Jose and Tyrone (who showed up with nothing) are going for 2nd's and complaining about the beer you brought to the party.

When immigrants complain about immigrants that's messed up. How about go back to Europe? In fact Becky and Allan are number one in getting things for free. They top the group of people living on welfare.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Obama issued a point-by-point rebuttal, arguing that would actually increase the flow of immigrants into the U.S. and that tracking huge numbers of remittances was impossible.

So by not allowing illegal Mexicans to wire money back to relatives in Mexico would create a fresh flow of "more" illegals into the US? Sounds like a quagmire, big time.

. . . . And some say we don't need a wall?

When immigrants complain about immigrants that's messed up.

I'm not an immigrant.

How about go back to Europe?

Huh? No thanks too many radical muslims there.

Wc626: Its like going to a pot luck BYOB get together. But when you get there Jose and Tyrone (who showed up with nothing) are going for 2nd's and complaining

Wc, meet bass. You guys have a lot to talk about.

bass: The constant playing the race card issue

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Strange chronology there. I think you'll find Richard Nixon and George W Bush left office with the worst approval ratings of the post-war presidents.

And it seems like more and historians are coming with the realization and looking back that Bush all in all wasn't that bad of a president, especially when you look at how his enemies were very careful with how they conducted themselves. Since Obama's presidency race relations is at an all time low. Crimea probably would have never happened as well as he most likely would have followed up on a promise like Obama did with Assad. He wasn't sensitive like Obama or Trump and he would never stoop to a level of demeaning himself go on a back and forth Twitter attack, that for sure wouldn't have happened under him, as well as North Korea acting crazy and China feeling emboldened enough to build airstrip bases. The man has one of the worst foreign policies of virtually any president I've known in recent memory.

I know you couldn't care less what people think and trust the evaluations of 'non-partisan' historians. Could you please name these historians for my reference? I like history.

Me too, the list is too long and remember, there is Google and we still need to wait a few years more until the consensus comes out to really vindicate Bush and it's already started.

Because Dems and this president are so bad at creating jobs, the only thing the left can do and have always done is dig in their box of excuses and blame everyone else except for the people that are running the ship. It's never their fault, they are perfect and are immune and infallible and this is another reason why the people say, enough is enough after 7 years, nothing is done, we owe so much debt, but it's not surprising that neither the Dems or the GOP want to deal with it or even work with Obama, a lame duck president. Race is a strong card for Obama and the Dems to play, it works, it's useful and it can always drum up passion and sympathy and since his presidency, we have been so divided and now Obama isn't done yet and wants to further that divide by engaging in politics on the campaign level to once again, drive that racial wedge and to demonize the right. This administration has neither guilt nor shame.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/mood_of_america/right_direction_or_wrong_track

More reason to be concerned as the country is headed in the wrong direction.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

I can't wait for the day when the Trump-meister is in charge on one side of the pond, and BoJo on the other. Imagine the hair-raising photo-ops; the urgent transatlantic phone calls to tackle the latest hair-spray crisis; the G8 bar-code summits; the global ultimatums- get an unnatural-looking, fake blonde barnet or get nuked (Kim Jong-Un watch out!)...

Seriously though, that nightmare scenario really would be the end of the world as we know it. Or just the end of the world. And I wouldn't feel fine.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

"And it seems like more and historians are coming with the realization and looking back that Bush all in all wasn't that bad of a president"

Who are these historians? Just name them. I want to read a 'non-partisan' view of how the debacles in Afghanistan and Iraq, turning a surplus into a defecit and finally an economy which rocketed round the u-bend at breakneck speed added up to a successful presidency.

I am being serious. You are a well-informed, highly-literate journalist with an eye on these things. I'm a semi-literate grease monkey. Please recommend some non-partisan historians. They aren't called Beck, Coulter or Hannity, are they?

7 ( +8 / -1 )

This is another reason why the Obama presidency was a complete failure and since Blacks were hit the hardest and that many of them see that illegal immigration in the country and most of these illegals are settling in Black and other lower income minority areas, Blacks are the first to feel the pinch when many are shoved aside to make way for illegals that will take a lot of jobs for less pay, further eroding the dreams and prospects of other disenfranchised Blacks

Well I think everyone knows that already, bass. It's just common sense.

But right after the secret Muslim has finished betraying his race, BAM! The GOP comes along and strips them of access to voting, crams them all into gerrymandered districts, denies healthcare coverage that would be virtually free for states to provide, blocks badly needed prison sentencing reform, blocks immigration reform (see above), mocks their protests, and pretty much writes off the entire voting demographic.

That 's a hell of a one-two punch, wouldn't you agree?

4 ( +6 / -2 )

This year has to be a nadir for them: could they possibly get any worse?

Probably. Kinda like that Batman vs. Superman movie, layman can't even comprehend how badly things can get screwed up until a committee is put behind the project.

Here's one way it could get seriously worse for them. Congressional redistricting has gotten way out of hand. Gerrymandering is not limited to the GOP, of course, just like hockey is not limited to white people - but with a liberal-leaning Supreme Court and a lower tolerance for shenanigans, we may over the next few years see the fall of the final GOP firewall.

"Mexican government officials have expressed concern about the rise of Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump due to his repeated verbal attacks on Mexico, and his insistence that Mexico should be made to pay for a border wall."

"Trump on Tuesday threatened to block remittances from undocumented Mexican migrants if elected president unless the country pays billions for his planned wall." - (Reuters) -- Apr 6th 2016 6:33PM

Trump is just bonkers.

Another Trust Fund Baby with the willful intent to do harm and have no thought for the consequences of his actions.

Truly incompetent.

Worst, the GOP/Tea is likely going to validate his candidacy, another racist bigot to make America Hate Again. The real shame? The GOP/Tea cowering like children before 'Big Daddy Trump' sick.

Donald J. Trump, (torture, racism and blackmail, the trifecta of dictator bigots)

All Presidents should be supporting Americans, and Trump's rise is clearly a sample what is to come. Because in Oregon, the citizens voted 2 to 1 for NO driver's licenses for illegal aliens. That's 2 to 1!!!!!!! The citizens took the initiative to get thousands of signatures to get that issue on the ballot. Californians also voted NO benefits to illegal aliens back in the 1990's. So, who are you, kcjapan to be so hysterical about TRUMP when BOTH Oregon and California are DEMOCRAT-controlled states? Clearly, the citizens in those states have expressed THEIR wishes. You may not even live in the US.

I suggest Obama to tell his candidates to stop bickering than tell Trump who is not a DEM candidate. Sanders said Clinton does not qualify for the President to bait her to say the same against him..

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Sander's wife was FIRED and she has been accused of squandering millions of dollars for the university she was President of. Hillary is also accused and was even prosecuted for more than one fraudulent activity. (There are videos with all the FACTS at Youtube.) So, yes, Obama does not look at the Dem. Party but looks away to draw attention to Trump, who actually looks great when you compare to Sanders and Hillary.

I saw an amazing scene where a man lit a candle from the other side of the room with the flame of an ignited fart on a YouTube video. You can also learn about how 9/11 was an inside job from YouTube too.

For the first time in my life, I'm recommending Fox News as a slight step up.

Obama has a big problem. Sanders has been telling Hillary does not qualify fo be the President over and over.

She says she takes Sanders over Trump or Cruz and voters will decide.

Sanders say Hillary loves banking system because bankers donate to Hillary and this Hillary ignore.

She ignores Sanders instigation. So media is still waiting if they will be able to use their ATM cards and bank.

More evidence has surfaced in regard to Donald J. Trump's future interest in the position of President.

As offered previously, Trump has been called a fraud from day one. Another report makes more of this reality show turned political campaign. Trump has played his bigots for fools and the whole world knows it.

The former communications director for the short-lived Trump super PAC confessed that the campaign started out as a vehicle for protest, not for the White House itself:

Almost a year ago, recruited for my public relations and public policy expertise, I sat in Trump Tower being told that the goal was to get The Donald to poll in double digits and come in second in delegate count. That was it.

source: 'Donald Trump Is Over This Whole Presidency Thing' - Michael Brendan Dougherty - The Week - Tuesday, April 5, 2016

Right from jump street some others have observed how wrong Trump was and how inauthentic his hubris and vitriol was.

citation above: "according to reports in The Washington Post. Much of the money Trump has spent on staging rallies and flying around the country has been loaned to the campaign from Trump. That means if Trump begins fundraising in earnest for a general election challenge, Trump will direct donated campaign money back to himself."

Trump has to continue to pay himself back for running. That's a neat trick, and likely, illegal.

Odder still . . . "Team Trump has barely organized a financial committee or fundraising operation."

Trump bails on his bigots. Nice guy, 'torture, racism and blackmail, he really does have it all.'

Played the black ministers for fools? Obama has not been good for blacks - they are WORSE OFF and there are many articles about that issue. Oh, my god. CJAPAN - issues hyperbole by the bucketful. Exaggeration, exaggeration, exaggeration while ignoring all the FACTS about the CLINTONS and Obama. And Sanders. Government workers also do not like an open border. It has nothing to do with race since many are "minorities". It has everything to do with SPENDING money we do not have on people who just got here yesterday.

Trump spent $ one billion of his money last year and this year, heis spending more. Last year, many GOP candidates Came to Vegas and begged to Sands owner but he did not give out this time. Well, Trump has own business in Vegas that he used his money, He hasn't done fund raising operation in Vegas. Low estimation of hiis business in SInCity last year is $ 2 billion. Not like Wynn, Sands, MGM but pretty good.

Here's a simple test for all the pro-Obama libs (provided you're actually Americans - if you aren't, than your opinions on our presidency and elections are irrelevant...post away all the blather you want, but you are still irrelevant...)" - comments

The "American Ethos' expressed here seems a blend of contempt and ignorance.

This is the mindset that needs a baby-sitter like a Doanld J. Trump.

Would someone explain why, commenting on an international site, to have your private world view the only one allowed, is a Trumpian trait. No need, read the post.

Actually this seems like the definition of contempt and ignorance.

Certainly, no one could tell an American anything of any value, or try. Well, not in this case.

No wonder Trump is so popular with hish school dropouts.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Who are these historians? Just name them. I want to read a 'non-partisan' view of how the debacles in Afghanistan and Iraq, turning a surplus into a deficit and finally an economy which rocketed round the u-bend at breakneck speed added up to a successful presidency.

Then Google, I did and the interesting thing is, the end debate is not here yet, so in another 8 years to compare what and how Obama governed that evidence will be more evident overall.

I am being serious.

So am I.

That old ludicrous fib again? No one is denied access to vote and in the case of White flight, if that is what you are referring to, does that indicate a person is racist, because they want to live in a community free from violence and drugs when they have the financial means? How about people that cheat the healthcare system or REFUSE to work and prefer to take the chances on more government aid that Obama now has made it easier to access, when ever research has shown, the longer a person is on welfare, the harder it is for them to get off of it. This is what Obama has done, created a society of government dependent zombies, there is a reason why so many states are running out of money and are increasing taxes to cope with the rising cost of welfare and other out of control entitlements and as far as the prison system is concerned, it's fine the way it is, you do the crime, you do the time, simple as that. Don't want to go to prison, don't get involved in crime, don't know what's so hard to understand that. I will admit, in the past, the GOP has done little for Blacks, that's not the case now and add to that and what makes it worse is that the Democrats the party that sees itself as the champion for the poor and downtrodden have lost their way as well and created a society of minorities dependent on government instead of trying to create LESS government dependency and self-reliance for some reason, Obama and Democrats are perfectly fine with 45 million people on food stamps and DO NOT see ANY urgency to change that at all.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

"45 million people on food stamps" - comments

Well, starvation is still possible. Trump only said 'people won't die in the streets.' Trump's idea may have been to fine the families of the starved if they did die in the street. That's called personal responsibility.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Again, bass, I agree with what you are saying. It's just common sense. Democrats hate blacks and the Secret Muslim black President is leading the way.

But as a non-partisan who often points out that both side do it, did you disagree with what I said about the GOP's issues with African-Americans? You can go point by point and let me know if you agree or disagree with any of it. Or maybe you can expand on how the GOP used to do little for blacks but they are doing much better now. We've established that Democrats are racist, so maybe we can switch gears and see what Republicans are up to.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

quick note:

"These efforts are based on patronizing misunderstandings about poor people. At least 45 million people receive food stamps in the U.S. every month, 16 million of them children. Contrary to the myth that food stamps are ineffective and foster a culture of dependency, a White House report found that SNAP benefits lifted 4.7 million people out of poverty in 2014."

"The stereotype of food-stamp recipients buying "fancy" items such as seafood or steak isn’t rooted in reality. Instead, it stems from the false right-wing narrative, popularized by Ronald Reagan in the 1970s, of the welfare queen, a term that became synonymous with single, poor, often African-American women." - source 'The New Right-Wing War on Food Stamps'

So, maybe Trump will go to war on children, the sixteen million children the GOP/Tea sees fit to war on?

No, if you read what I wrote, the GOP has HAD a history of not being so receptive towards Blacks and other minorities as well as gays, just like the Dems were the party that really believed in helping the downtrodden, but both parties have changed throughout the years. You have more Blacks and minorities in the GOP, Blacks and Hispanics from an ideological point of view have a lot more in common with conservative values than with liberals. The majority are socially conservative, entrepreneurial are against abortion and gay marriage, these are not liberal values, even close to them and many of them have been switching over, this is why people like Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Allen West, Bobby Jindal, Nikki Haley and many more that are now the NEW face of the GOP and Obama and the Dems can try to twist and contort trying as hard as they can to demonize the GOP as a racist group and that card just won't play and has in fact, played out and the Dems are trying other ways to demonize the GOP and so their ONLY hope at this point is to pray that the infighting within the GOP continues, otherwise they are in big, big trouble.

You are taking his comments way overboard, he never said or implied that. Personally, most of Trumps's positions aren't really conservative and Trump does feel that we can't let anyone be on the streets, so I do think he believes in more government assistance for the poor and needy, so that would conclude, he's not 100% for self-reliance entirely, so liberals can breath a sigh of relief, a bit

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Then why do so many minorities shun the Republican Party? Is it because of any of the reasons that I listed?

And when Republicans here use the words "spics" and "Tyrone the black guy with no food" do you think that plays any part in the GOP's image problem? I would imagine it would, but that's just my opinion.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Black politics, at least in the public, are dominated philosophically by liberal ideas about government and its role in delivering racial justice, and reinforced structurally through overwhelming support for the Democratic Party. What lies beneath is a different story.

Blacks are more likely than whites and Hispanics to say that blacks experience unfair treatment in American institutions like law enforcement, the court system and public schools and at work. On the other hand, less than one-third of African Americans see discrimination as the main reason many blacks can’t get ahead, while more than half see blacks as being responsible for their own condition.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

There is a reason Trump has been introduced by two black ministers on two different days. At least two different times, maybe more. Blacks have polled as being against illegal immigration. Their gangs fight with the Latino gangs in LA. In all large cities. Why can't anyone discuss gangs or cartels? Is it only those of us who have worked for the government (and have Sociology degrees) that can discuss real issues? Is it only we who are not embarrassed to utter these words and have frank conversations? Apparently so, because most liberals seem to be in denial about crime, prison costs, drugs, cost of translation and all the honest concerns of those in government and law enforcement. You liberals were not very liberal in college, or you would have taken classes in all the subjects I have spoken of. In other words, you're not those who were willing to work with real life issues. Not willing to work with the poor, talk to them or go to their neighborhoods. Or you would know how badly we have been affected. A black sociologist in Miami, T. Willard Fair, has been against immigration for a long time. There are others academics, too."

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

And let's not forget Donald J. Trump, torture advocate

What does that have to do with the GOP being more open to minorities and gays?

Then why do so many minorities shun the Republican Party? Is it because of any of the reasons that I listed?

One main reason is old fashioned beliefs and preconceived perceptions. Most Blacks vote Democratic by default and were brought up that way and were never taught or given the chance to look at the other side. A lot of Blacks and even Hispanics just automatically think that the GOP doesn't like them, because that's what their parents taught them as did their grandparents. Now the Blacks that are more open-minded and wanted to think out of the box and did a side by side comparison of what the Democratic party really stands for, many have come to realize that many of their ideas socially and economically doesn't align in lock step with liberal policies and more Blacks are taking a second look at the GOP or even becoming independent. Obama and the Dems have done everything to divide this nation. Race relations are at its absolute worst since Obama has been in office and he further insults people as a sitting president by trying to influence the outcome of the presidential election? As I said, Obama cares ONLY about keeping the Democrats in office, the people and their social plights is the furthest from his mind.

And when Republicans here use the words "spics" and "Tyrone the black guy with no food" do you think that plays any part in the GOP's image problem? I would imagine it would, but that's just my opinion.

You are now labeling all conservatives now? Nice try. There was No outrage from the Democratic party when Harry Reid said, Obama, the way he acts and speaks is not like a typical Black man, so what the heck is that supposed to mean? Was there any denouncements from liberals? None. But if a conservative says it, it makes headline news. Once again, hypocrisy prevails.

"And let's not forget Donald J. Trump, torture advocate" the new face of the GOP/Tea

What does that have to do with the GOP being more open to minorities and gays?

If the reader has been pay attention, there were a few stories about how inclusive Donald J. Trump has been.

Trump has been generous with hate and there have been few minorities forgotten.

Trump is on the stage to receive the GOP/Tea nomination to run for President.

That runs counter to the claim of the GOP/Tea changing, they are endorsing a bigot.

Trump's thumpers were told to riot if Trump was rejected by Republicans.

So, by force or threat, the GOP/Tea will front a bigot for President.

Very inclusive, what a refreshing change. Why haven't the GOP/Tea told Trump to take a hike?

I think Obama should be spending his time more on worrying about the decline of the world's economies, the meltdown in the middle east, the rise of terrorism in Europe, and a thousand other more pressing issues. Instead, he spends more time playing golf than any president in history, hosting celebrities at the white house, and appearing on talk shows.

Don't forget the KKK supports Trump. They want Trump to restore the entitled power to the white man.

Funny. The democrat party was the party of slavery, the party of Jim Crow, the party which opposed the civil rights act and voting rights act. The democrat party ruled the south for nearly one-and-a-half centuries, and during that time, you would never find a republican running around wearing a white hood. It was the democrat party which created and enforced segregation, which outlawed interracial marriages, etc. Amazing how little people know of the histories of the political parties.

You will find equally extreme groups who support Sanders or Clinton.

So to reiterate the KKK is pro trump because the KKK has been pro white all this time? If the Democrats created the KKK then the KKK must be happy about a black family being in the WH. Can someone clarify?

From what I am reading also the Conservatives are promoting sharia law

It's ridiculous reading this garbage about the KKK supporting Trump - as if that means anything. Radical environmentalists support Hillary - does not mean she agrees with them? Of course not. I am sure that Hamas would much rather Obama be president than W - does that mean that Obama supports Hamas? No - at least not directly or on purpose. Trump wants to put America first before unbalanced trade deals and immigration due to the countries problems with huge trade imbalances, a faltering middle class, and the damage being done by open borders to the social safety net. People can be so simple minded and hateful.

"Radical environmentalists support Hillary" OK then Conservatives like dirty air like in developing countries. Lung cancer loves Conservatives. OK, got it!
