HeyLars
Obama never promised a withdraw, but it does not change the fact that he has earned the jeers.
Now the question is whether the war supporting Obama haters will support Obama's stance on the wars or if they will also take this opportunity to attack him. I think for most it will be a conundrum, and they will keep silent rather than appear indecisive, because, as we know, with them appearances are much important that honesty.
Those who do speak will see a political advantage in choosing one or the other, showing they have no heart but are just cold political calculators. I suspect those will criticize small points of Obama's handling of the war although we all know, if it was Bush, they would be completely mum.

HeyLars:
Actually, Obama most certainly DID promise to end the war and bring the troops home. Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qp9YJjZFGQw
If I were an American I'd be asking, where's the "Change You Can Believe In!"?

I wonder how many turncoat conservatives were there who supported the wars under bush but now oppose them because a Dem is running the show?

LIBERTAS, my bad. I should have said immediate withdraw. But does it matter? Obama is just keeping the promise Bush made, as if he had a choice. Its like me promising the sun will rise tomorrow! I always keep that promise!

"Arrest that war criminal!"
Ha ha, too funny!
I wonder how many liberals who supported Obama are disappointed with him.

This is probably one of the most honest reflections of the American populace in the media I have seen in maybe a whole year.

Hmm, "thousands" in country populated by 300+ million ? Hardly an "honest reflection" of the populace- more of a community "snapshot" if you ask me.

"Arrest that war criminal!” Sheehan shouted outside the White House before her arrest, referring to Obama.
"Freedom of speech" or "Slander" ? Obama has never been convicted of any war crimes soooo... seems to me the only one needing to be arrested is that loud mouth Sheehan.

I wonder how many of those who were standing outside the White House yelling for an end to the war were out there supporting george bush's lies and propaganda campaigns.
I'd love to see the war criminal get arrested, but they'll have to go to Wyoming and Texas to do that.
Obama is keeping his promise to end the war in Iraq. After 6 years of mismanagement, it ain't an over night task.
Obama is doing what bush never did in Afghanistan. bush sent in forces and then started bringing them out for his war in Iraq. Obama went into Afghanistan, doubled the forces, has worked with Pakistan, used more predator drone attacks then ever before and is putting an end to current Taliban and Al-Quaeda leaders by taking them out.
But back to my original question. I wonder how many of those anti-war protesters were protesting and saying no to war before bush attacked or after 6 years of mismanagement by bush were out there protesting for their first time. < :-)

The only reason that I still like America is because there are always some kind and wise american who really care about those suffering people.

It's time to get our troops out of Iraq. That place is hell on our guys. I wish sometimes that more people, whether they support the war effort or are against it, would go to see some of the wounded.
A part of your heart breaks every time.
Bring them home. Please. For the love of God.

What about Afghanistan? Isn't that place hell on our guys too?
Anyway, the U.S. is on track to a complete withdrawal from an Iraq that doesn't seek WMD or threaten its neighbors by the end of next year.

Nice try to rewrite the past and what a completely foolish attempt to predict the future. Israel is a stone's throw away, tensions with Iran continue. Iraq still contains three factions that still attack eachother. A whole bunch of things could happen in the near future.
And while the position that Iraq was trying to seek WMD might seem like a safe position between saying they had them and acknowledging that they didn't. it reeks of grasping at straws and it amounts to justifying an attack on someone because he "had malice in his eyes".

I USED to support a certain mother of a US soldier killed in Iraq who protested the war when bush, who was the worst president ever, was shredding the US Constitution on a daily basis, but now that she has tried to slander Barack, well, I will take back that support.I urge all progressives to longer capitalize the name of cindy sheehan.

Gombei... President Bush didn't 'shred the Constitution..."
-No need to play the drama queen.
Most folks are against President Obama and his congress has what...? Ten-percent favorability factor?
Why are you so surprised?
By the by, Cindy Sheehan didn't raise that boy, but she sure got a lot of mileage outta his dead body.
True story. Really.

Is it? We haven't had a single combat death I believe since last November in that country and the combat injuries have also pretty much dropped to nothing to since last november.

You see, you guys politicize the whole thing. You don't care about these kids.
You're completely blind to it whereas I see it daily. Guys driving like crazy because they can't let themselves get boxed in in traffic. Guys who shake uncontrollably and joke that the shakes help them quit smoking.
They are real human beings to me. They aren't to you. It appalls me that you things can pretend you support the troops.
I'll bet you can't even name one.

What about our troops in Afghanistan who are being killed and maimed? Isn't it time to bring them home?

Taka313, what type of trauma are US soldiers in when they are in Iraq right now when there are basically no combat deaths nor combat injuries nor any type of combat whatsoever that US forces engage in when it comes to Iraq.
The truth of the matter is that Iraq is much better right now when it comes to its violence and so Iraq right now, this very second isn't really "hell on our guys".
I understand where your coming from with the driving and the shaking but those wounds were created during the years between 2003-2008 and parts of 2009.
The truth of the matter is that Iraq for all of this year has not been hell on US forces, in fact if anything it is quite boring, at least that is what the soldiers said on an interview with Richard engel.
Iraq once was hell on earth for US forces but it isn't any longer, those that are currently suffering from PTSD or just from any type of stress from developed from Iraq will not end with the withdrawal from Iraq, sadly those wounds will probably last forever.
