WOW! I heard of this happening in Russia, so I guess I should not be so surprised in a poorer country like India, but anyway RIP.

Always gotta be careful what you drink in India. Make sure the liquid comes in a securely sealed bottle before drinking it ... no matter what the stuff is ... water, cola, juice or booze.

This sort of thing actually happens fairly often in India, and everywhere else where home-brewing by amateurs is rampant. Brewing the wrong way can easily produce methyl alcohol... which the consumers don´t know they consumed until they get sick.

You gotta be careful of what you drink wherever you go. I went to a Soju tent in Pusan and had a couple of drinks. When I came out of my blackout, I was naked, dripping wet, and locked out of my hotel room. Not my finest moment.
