100% agreed! Many of them feel that we should be an open society, why have borders, but everywhere else in Latin America, almost everywhere you go, they have tough immigration policies, more than the US.

I was on a Greyhound bus traveling from fort Sam Housten in San Antonia to Detroit. When we got to Chicago, and a Mexican neighborhood, before heading downtown, the bus was attacked and the bus driver was attacked. The most amazing thing I've ever seen. We had to lay on the floor of the bus in case of bullets spraying the bus. The bus driver was surrounded by angry Mexicans and challenged to a fight. The black bus driver stood his ground, punched his challenger, who then ran away. Before the cops showed up, the mob smashed the windows and had everyone, even the children on the bus really scared. When we got to downtown Chicago and got off, I made a point of asking the bus driver if he was OK. He showed me his bloody hand and said "yeah, I'm Ok. Chicago/Mexican Greyhound bus incident:

1. Never take a Greyhound bus for long trips since they will stop at every small town (no matter how out of path it is) and waste time. Your Texas to Detroit trip may take 2-3 days. MegaBus (straight shot between cities) is probably better. The problem with both of these is that thieves and other untrustables/low life's are on the bus and at the terminals. =Take an airplane. 2. Chicago (metro) area is a gun-free zone. At night time I would stop for next to nothing. Mexicans in Chicago are 95% nice, hard-working and very family orientated. Gang-members at night are not. He's getting other big donors that will most likely support him in the coming months. I have a large extended family in California and quite a few are Latino. You're right about how much Mexican immigrants have given and continue to give to the unique culture in the American west. All of my Hispanic relatives were themselves, or are the descendants of, legal immigrants from Mexico. What I picked up over some killer cabrito and a lot of Modelos, was that my Hispanic relatives think illegal immigration is a problem. Of course they are looking at it from ground level. When something bad happens in their communities there are invariably illegals involved and they don't like it. They have no problem with immigration just illegal immigration. They made the effort to do it the legal way and think everybody that wants to come to the US should do the same thing.
