Donald Trump on Wednesday escalated a fight with Fox News, using the word “bimbo” in a derogatory tweet about anchorwoman Megyn Kelly

Really? Wasn't that last week's show?

This make believe television personality grows tiresome. Time to change the channel.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

Hey, Donald, want some cheese with that "whine" ?

2 ( +7 / -5 )

“I refuse to call Megyn Kelly a bimbo, because that would not be politically correct,” he wrote on Twitter. “Instead I will only call her a lightweight reporter!”

Stay classy.

Cruz, Trump’s main rival in Iowa, used the hashtag #DuckingDonald to make fun of the former reality TV star for ducking out of the debate and tweeted a mocked-up picture of Trump’s head on Donald Duck’s body sitting on a pile of money.

Stay classy.

Do y'all remember that scene in Animal House near the end of the film when all hell breaks loose, with the kid reading in his bedroom, and a young attractive women comes flying though his window, lands on his bed, and he looks up and says: "Thank you, God!"

Well, that just happened to me this morning.

We learned from a secret back channel that the Ayatollah and Putin both intend to treat Donald Trump unfairly when they meet with him if he becomes president—a nefarious source tells us that Trump has his own secret plan to replace the Cabinet with his Twitter followers to see if he should even go to those meetings.

That's FOX's retort to Trump's doubling-down on his temper tantrum.

FOX.

Thank you, God!

Fox News, Cruz tweeting Donald Duck and Trump with a face like a smacked arse. This year's clown car can do 0-60 faster than ever.

Without the Donald in the debate ratings will tank. No one cares about the other 20 candidates. It will be a snooze fest. More people will be reading Trump's tweets on the debate then will watch. Trump is the republican hero who has the guts to face down Fox News, the voice of the republican establishment. Cruz and the rest of the republican clown car are gutless losers.

Go Trump!

4 ( +8 / -4 )

The last chapter in a history of the US written 50 years from now, when the US no longer exists, will be entitled "Trump elected president".

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

I think Cruz's politic beliefs make him a scary presidential, but he scored max for “duckingdonald.com,”. I have no idea what Trump's political beliefs might be and wonder if his complete inability to articulate anything of substance beyond Mexico building a wall for him and keeping Muslims from entering the US is part of the reason for him 'ducking' the debates. He and his political managers must think someone could ask him a real question and expect a coherent answer. Regardless, once again he's got his name and his gob front and centre, showing his marketing genius.

“It’s a risky move, it’s very high-profile,”

Very high-profile. Look at all the attention its generating here. For a candidate to snub the final debate & host an event for US Veterans instead is indeed unprecedented and sending shockwaves in US political circles.

Fox News, Cruz tweeting Donald Duck and Trump with a face like a smacked arse. This year's clown car can do 0-60 faster than ever.

With the sideshow circus going on with the communist Bolshevik, you call what's happening on the GOP side, calling them out for having a clown car? Too funny.

Without the Donald in the debate ratings will tank.

Hasn't happened in 14 years, don't bet on it, in fact, this thing just might boost their ratings.

No one cares about the other 20 candidates.

How many do the Dems have? A liar and a socialist? Talk about lack of choices.

It will be a snooze fest.

Can't be as bad as the Democratic debates, however, I do agree it will be a bit boring without Trump going around and insulting everyone.

More people will be reading Trump's tweets on the debate then will watch. Trump is the republican hero who has the guts to face down Fox News,

No, it's just that Trump is a bully, has no decorum and will attack anyone anywhere. It doesn't matter if you are a woman, minority, war hero or anything else. That's just who he is, another ego driven maniac. The difference is at least the man cares about the country and direction it's going.

the voice of the republican establishment. Cruz and the rest of the republican clown car are gutless losers.

Better to be a loser than to be known for being a habitual lying machine. 8 years of that? This is why Sanders is gaining ground.

That's FOX's retort to Trump's doubling-down on his temper tantrum.

I think you are seeing something you want to see, but in all seriousness, what happens if Trump becomes president and he's actually good, will you eat crow

Thank you, God!

That both parties are being demolished? I couldn't agree more! Cheers!

I just wonder republicans really want Trump to be next President? I heard those who want to support him are white people only, none of hispanics, blacks, asians? Whites are minority in comparison with other races.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Whites are minority in comparison with other races [sic].

Not in the US.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

“I refuse to call Megyn Kelly a bimbo

Except you just did.

Reminds me of people who say 'no offense' right before they go on to say something offensive, as if having said 'no offense' first somehow excuses it. In that vein, saying he refuses to call her a bimbo, while calling her a bimbo, doesn't change the fact that he just called her a bimbo.

2 ( +7 / -5 )

Trump should use his billions to buy out Faux News. If he's really serious about Taking Back America, it should begin with Americans getting their misinformation from a native-born wacko, instead of an amoral Australian media mogul.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

Trump is favored to win the Republican nomination. Not only that, Republicans are bullish on him winning the Presidency. They are that out=to-lunch.

If Trump does win the nomination, we Dems stand a good shot at taking back the Senate!

Thank you, God!

No doubt and if Sanders wins, watch the establish Democratic base go bonkers, because if they support him,Cohen the cat is out of the bag and finally, they will be exposed for what they really are. I remember when Chris Matthews asked Hillary what the difference is between a communist and a socialist

If Trump does win the nomination, we Dems stand a good shot at taking back the Senate!

And then the shoe will be on the other foot and then Libs won't get anything done! ROFL That would be a huge Schadenfreude.

Thank you, God

For all his theatricality, Trump as president is an option that people outside of the US really worry about.

The irony is that Faux News (I like that one GalapagosnoGairaishu) probably actually deserve one another, and that includes Megyn Kelly.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Well, I am not a fan of Faux News because of their no-go zone crap, but if Trump does not want to be questioned during a debate and select the question, he could always try to move to Japan.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Never a dull moment. The Federal Election Commission is a joke and should be thrown away. I've watched the FEC, dems and reps destroy potential candidates with their rules. Ron Paul and Ralph Nader come to mind. The establishment must be taken down. If trump can't do it, nobody can except for a SHTF situation.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

The best thing that the other candidates could have done would be to completely ignore Trump once he said he wasn't attending. Instead they've drawn even more attention to his absence, further marginalizing their own campaigns, once again proving that Cruz, Bush and the other manufactured sheep flock are far too incompetent and comically moronic. They've also proven themselves to be puppet schills of the mainstream media - so basically the exact things they are apparently railing against. Surely these other candidates don't think Americans are that stupid?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

if Trump does not want to be questioned during a debate and select the question, he could always try to move to Japan.

Many Japanese female reporters have some crush on Trump. Whether Trump will live in US or Japan, many female reporters will chase him like rock star with some touch questions.

Trump is not being paid for becoming the candidate for president. He will pay for any necessary cost for becoming the President. Therefore he can afford to ignore Fox or NHK unlike other politicians.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Ted Cruz went on the Mark Levin Show and challenged Trump to a one-on-one debate, similar to the Lincoln-Douglas debates.

Will Trump accept? Probably not.

Trump skipping the debate right before the Iowa caucuses will hurt. Cruz-Trump are neck and neck in Iowa. If Trump losses in Iowa, it's over for him. I have a feeling he doesn't handle defeat well. He's certain to lash out and his attacks will broaden and become more vicious and nasty. None of which will bold well for him in future primaries.

It's getting more interesting.

Can't wait for Feb. 1st!

Just checked out the etymology of "bimbo":

bimbo (n.) 1919, "fellow, chap," from variant of Italian bambino "baby;" first attested in Italian-accented theater dialogue. Originally especially "stupid, inconsequential man, contemptible person;" by 1920 the sense of "floozie" had developed (popularized by "Variety" staffer Jack Conway, d.1928). Resurrection during 1980s U.S. political sex scandals led to derivatives including diminutive bimbette (1990) and male form himbo (1988).

Interesting that it was first used in regards to men (hence the Latin ending -o, not -a); that it originally meant a "stupid, inconsequential man, contemptible person;" and that the sexual nuances didn't come until later. So perhaps Trump has a point if he was referring to the original, but that's Trump: He has a tendency to say things that cannot be directly understood.

bass4funk JAN. 28, 2016 - 10:48AM JST No, I'm more about wanting the best for my country, as I said before, I'm not a Trump supporter, but I do understand the allure, I really do and if it's a choice between him or another Lying Clinton, then out of the lesser two evils, I'll vote Trump every single time.

Would you rather Bush with Powell making statement of WMD? How honest was that?

very smart move Mr Trump

There have already been 6 debates previous to this one, so I don't think the infantile 'he's just scared!' attack will stick.

Incidentally, there was another Republican front-runner that skipped the final debate prior to the Iowa caucuses as well. Ronald Reagan in 1980.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Incidentally, there was another Republican front-runner that skipped the final debate prior to the Iowa caucuses as well. Ronald Reagan in 1980.

True. But not really a fair or accurate comparison. Much different country now and with different issues and different candidate with debates hitting a much bigger and broader audience via cable, social media, etc. No show in 1980. And Trump is certainly no Reagan and the latter didn't skip the debate over a personal beef with a moderator.

And the other six debates weren't scheduled right before the first caucus. Not so incidentally, Trump's tone and tactics have changed. He's attacking and on the defense. It's not registering well with voters, which is why Cruz has been gaining.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Owenz JAN. 28, 2016 - 11:18AM JST It's not registering well with voters, which is why Cruz has been gaining.

But for the more mercenary and pragmatic business and lobbying establishment, Trump seems like someone they could do business with, and Cruz seems like a dangerously inflexible ideologue.

Giggle laughs, I saw Trump interviewed by Bill O'Reilly. I thought Trump was sucking on a lemon and about to lose his temper. My guy changed the station, too bad. giggles

He always looks disgruntled like that. The state america is in right now, I'd say that sort of facial expression is very appropriate.

Besides, why sit there on camera and smile (acting like everything is just fine, when its not) like the other politicians do. The ones who won't address the issues which "seriously" need to be addressed. Why?

Halfway true. Most women are gold-diggers though, foreign or homegrown. . . . Look at Anna Nicole Smith. She wasn't a foreigner, but she married that billionare who was almost 100 yrs old. He "came" and "went" @the same time. Sheesh-

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Cruz-Trump are neck and neck in Iowa.

That's not true. Trump is averaged at 31.6, and Cruz is at 24.9 and trending downward. But the trump has a solid lead in New Hampshire.

BIMBO-"broads in media behaving obscene". Common understanding for the last 35 years.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Most women are gold-diggers

No wonder you have relationship problems.....

You look at a handful of women who obviously married for money, and from that deduce that the majority of women are gold-diggers? How's about you look at the millions of women working to support their families, with no thought of selling themselves to a rich, ugly sugar daddy?

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Yeah, it's a pretty ridiculous statement. I never had much money for the first 30+ years of my life, and yet I never had any troubles meeting women. If they were mostly gold diggers, I would have been out of luck.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

PTownsend: I think Cruz's politic beliefs make him a scary presidential

I dislike Curz more than Trump. Comparatively, at least you know what you're getting with Trump. Cruz intentionally targets the dim-witted and evangelicals and plays the part of demagogue. He's universally despised where he works and places he has worked in the past, he intentionally tried to default on the debt as a publicity stunt, and wants to place term limits on Supreme Court justices because they voted against making his religion above the law. Trump is at war with the media but more Republicans are starting to temper their responses about Trump as Cruz rises.

I suppose there are many gold-diggers out there. Anna Nicole Smith married a man with one foot in the grave and probably not all his dogs barking. I can remember model types marrying older, blubbery men with wads of cash and one particular billionaire with an outrageous hairdo.

These gold-diggers tend to approach those who lack judgement and/or have egos so inflated they believe these women are looking past the wallet.

Sad men who shouldn't be trusted.

Woe-woe-woe . . . All I meant was that "most" women (dating / marrying the Trumps & billionares) are gold diggers. The comments were in response to: gelendestrasseJAN. 28, 2016 - 11:50AM JST

I don't have any relationship problems. What made anyone come to that conclusion? I just don't believe marriage works the way it used to work.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

All I meant was that "most" women (dating / marrying the Trumps & billionares) are gold diggers.

Pity then that you missed out the bit in brackets, which is the only bit that gives what you say any meaning. I agree that anyone wanting to jump into bed with a Trump or a Murdock would have to be either a gold-digger or mentally unstable, but that still doesn't mean that 'most' wives of rich men are only in it for the money.

I don't have any relationship problems. What made anyone come to that conclusion?

Mmm, when you moan about '1-sided feminine favouritism', men having to 'wear the pants', being 'persecuted for any little thing' and the inevitability of 'fussing and bickering'. If you have no problems, that's great, but it's not the impression you give.
