I am sure these guys love Trump's draft dodging and ridiculing POWs.

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

As if draft dodging is as bad as being a liar by the FBI and a security risk to the nation.

-11 ( +5 / -16 )

Trump fans couldn't care less about who these people are. They just like the way Trump legitimizes bigotry.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

Is Flynn still a registered Democrat ? That is going to be more of an issue for his supporters than anything policy related.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Trump fans couldn't care less about who these people are. They just like the way Trump legitimizes bigotry.

Childish and not even a decent lie. You can do better than that can't you? Well, it is early still.

Gotta love those Republicans. Never ones to be caught out telling lies - clean as they come, pure as the driven snow. (pssst - dont mention the Iraq war and the multiple lies over many years with that one)

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Flynn seems like a very intelligent man who espouses quite sensible policies. The question is whether he would deign to sully his career by tying himself to Trump. (Adviser is one thing; VP choice another.) Normally, leaks like this occur to pique public interest, but they also might occur to add pressure to a reluctant party. We'll see if Flynn bites; my guess is not.

Whoa! And this coming from the group that openly supports a certified habitual liar and a security risk for the highest office in the land. Astonishing!

They just like the way Trump legitimizes bigotry.

By letting in the Sunshine to disinfect the truth?

-9 ( +5 / -14 )

Whoa! And this coming from the group that openly supports a certified habitual liar and a security risk for the highest office in the land. Astonishing!

Hehehe, a month ago she was a 'criminal'. Now you've had to re-adjust your smear campaign to accept the reality that she actually isn't a criminal. You found new names though!

6 ( +9 / -3 )

The source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Flynn has emerged as a possibility, confirming reports in the New York Post and The Washington Post. The Trump campaign had no comment.

Media chum. Wasn't his daughter the pick?

Next week: "Little Green Men Invade! Offered Trump VP! DECLINED!"

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Why is it that the left always try to distort and and bend the facts? Hillary Clinton is criminal and she was proven to be a liar, a security risk a schemer, does it rise to the occasion that what she did calls for incarceration, maybe not, but careless and reckless, that's on the record by the FBI, its documented, it's on video, will be in history books, now that we know and without a shred of doubt of what she is, the left can't say, it's a lie, ruse etc... She is marked and thank God at least Comey for what it's worth confirmed this and that's good enough that he at least showed the people, she can't and shouldn't be trusted.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

The question is whether he would deign to sully his career by tying himself to Trump.

Good point. Curious to see who he'll choose.

Why is it that the left always try to distort and and bend the facts?

This sounds like a line taken once again from the Bob Loblaw Law Blog.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Having something to say doesn't mean "you" have something to say.

"The Trump campaign had no comment."

Playing hard to get again, That Trump!

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Why is it that the left always try to distort and and bend the facts?

You start with a question about why the left distorts and bends facts, then follow it up with something that is a lie:

Hillary Clinton is criminal

Are you trying to say it's better to lie, than to bend facts?

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Hillary Clinton is criminal

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

Good point. Curious to see who he'll choose.

I don't know about the other candidates being vetted but Flynn has said that he is very concerned with some of Trump's more controversial statements (waterboarding, "taking out" terrorist's families etc) and always stressing tp him the importance of a president being more precise in his use of language. So we will say next week but that would definitely have to be one of the requirements of accepting.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Well, now we know for the record, we have a justice system for the lower echelon of the spectrum and we have one for the Clinton's. The Clinton's can murder someone and they would never be indicted OR even serve jail time, the rest of us would be expecting a needle. Liberal Justice. Again, this is going to help Trump and fuel that anger.

-7 ( +3 / -10 )

"stressing tp him the importance of a president being more precise in his use of language. So we will say next week but that would definitely have to be one of the requirements of accepting." - comments

Not in Trump's skill set.

Trump is his best own audience. He just LOVES the Trump!

You people? Not so much. What a buffoon.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

My thoughts, Lizz. The excuses GOPers have given both for declining to attend the RNC conference ("I have to mow my lawn" said one Congressman) and declining the Veep spot ("I'm just focusing on Iowa right now" said Ernst) are amusing. We'll see how Flynn exits if he does - with weasel words or with a principled statement.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Not in Trump's skill set.

Doesn't have to 54% of the people are teed off about Hillary and the outcome of Comey taking a dive, that says a lot

Trump is his best own audience. He just LOVES the Trump!

No different from Obama.

You people? Not so much. What a buffoon.

There are more colorful words to describe Hillary, none of which the Mods would allow.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

Trump needs a conservative to bring in the base, a woman to counter his negatives with females, someone with Washington experience and who comes from a swing state which he badly needs. The only person who fulfills all of these requirements is Senator Joni Ernst from Iowa, and to top it off, she has military experience.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

I agree.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

Is Flynn GOP member now?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Conservatives support Ernst because she is not yet 2 years into a first Senate term, new enough to still be considered an 'outsider' even though the Washington GOP establishment has embraced her. But there is no way she is ready to be president if something happened to Trump.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Is Flynn GOP member now?

I don't think party affiliation matters to Trump. He needs the Republicans to support him and is just manipulating elements within the Party to further his quest for the keys to open what's left of America's resources, which a serial predatory capitalist like him has long drooled over.

All he wants in a running mate is someone to sing his praises, someone willing to market brand Trump.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

For both candidates, i think the choice of VP is more important than it ever has been. There is a good chance that Trump/Clinton will not be able to finish their first term. Don't know anything about Flynn, but wonder about his credentials.

http://www.cnn.com/2016/05/26/politics/michael-flynn-donald-trump-vp-search/

In 1981 Flynn was commissioned in the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant in Military Intelligence and assigned as a paratrooper to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Flynn is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, has an MBA, and a degree from the U.S. Naval War College. Flynn has held a number of military intelligence leadership posts, including commander of a military intelligence battalion in Afghanistan, director of Intelligence for United States Central Command, which oversees all U.S. military operations in the Middle East, and director of Intelligence for the Joint Staff. Most recently, Flynn was the head of the Defense Intelligence Agency before he was forced out after facing "pressure from Director of National Intelligence James R. Clapper Jr. and others in recent months," according to The Washington Post. The Military Times reported that he was "forced out of his role after sparring with Obama advisers on a range of policy decisions.

Flynn, who has been a foreign policy adviser to Trump

Did anyone notice Trump has a foreign policy adviser?

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Nope, not buying it that Trump takes advice from anyone outside his immediate family. For example, if he needs to burnish his foreign policy credentials, he can tell his foreign born wife to give a speech about building a barricade down south that will be paid for by, um uh, why not Puerto Rico!

1 ( +2 / -1 )

If Trump listened his advisers before he talks his wrong opinion, he might sound better than Clinton but getting too late to compete against brainy Hillary who doesn't even read script. She just say from her head while Trump needs to. Learn how to read Tele prompt.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

But there is no way she is ready to be president if something happened to Trump.

To be fair, she's probably far readier than he. Still, she's already rejected the possibility, so it's a moot point. http://www.politico.com/story/2016/07/trump-veep-bob-corker-joni-ernst-225187

Trump will likely be left with a very short list of washed-up has-beens with no alternative political future such as Christie or Gingrich (my bet is on the latter). What politician with any chance for future success would hitch their fate to Trump's dumpster fire?

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Business man and an ex General............Nice combination to put Washington back in line.

= Many Generals etc were "purged" by Barrack Hussein Obama. = One of the many reasons you have poor leadership. low moral and high crime rates in the US Military.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Business man and an ex General............Nice combination to

further enrich the military and the many various industries that feed off it. Probably also enrich the destination resort casino industries. Also for-profit universities? Legalization of ponzi schemes? Selling off national lands including military bases and national parks? Further privatization of the military? Even more mercenaries?

" Is Flynn still a registered Democrat ? That is going to be more of an issue for his supporters than anything policy related. "

I think our US partisan zealots on this board completely misunderstand that the current election (the most interesting in decades, imho) is not about "republicans" vs "democrats" but rather corrupt establishment/globalists vs a grassroots revolt against that. Hilary is the ultimate corrupt establishment candiate representing the status quo. The other two candidates want a fresh look at the globalist, interventionist policies of the past. That is why the republican establishment is bashing Trump like the best of our foaming partisan posters here, and why this time around the predictable smear attacks by the mainstream media are not sticking, as hard as they try.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

I think Gingrich can help Trump. Christie? He screwed up N J and also Trump's business. For Hillary, she already has minority and female support but the gentleman Castro may further increase her chance to be elected. I ap adon't think she will suddenly insult minorities. Sanders will announce supporting Hillary rumor but coming Tuesday is not a good day. Many people rather watch MLB All Stars than listens to Sanders.

Oh, I figured you'd start with the bigot.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

I think Gingrich can help Trump.

You are dreaming. 6 wives between the two of them. If you think women don't vote you may be right, but you're not. Trump is toast, when he releases his tax returns people will see the truth, he's 90 % talk and 10% daddy's legacy.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

I don't see Trump releasing his tax returns. As long as he doesn't release them, in their adoration of him, some people will think the best. Once he releases them they find out the truth, and that can only hurt him.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Trump does not want people find he was not a billionaire. He is broke. Hillary already submitted rhe copy of her income tax return. Hillary's child healthcare ads are shown kin our area. Her ads do not have Trump bushing. She will win our state anyway.

Trump's draft dodging

Dodging? Depends on the definition....

" Ronald Kuby, a criminal and civil rights lawyer and talk show host, appeared on WABC-AM in New York City on July 15, 2015, three days before Trump made his controversial comments. Kuby highlighted the multiple student deferments Trump received, and how he finally got a medical exemption that staved off the draft.

Trump "was a Vietnam draft dodger," Kuby said.

We asked Kuby what he meant and he explained, "I use the term broadly to mean anyone who took advantage of deferments to avoid being drafted."

So anyone who took a student or medical deferment for any reason is a 'dodger'? That's 15 million people in the Vietnam war alone. If you stayed in college, you couldn't be drafted. Trump was declared 4-F in his medical evaluation. Here's a list of many people who deferred, including Bill Clinton and Kareem Abdul Jabar...

http://www.nndb.com/event/806/000140386/

Deferment was legal, 'dodging' by burning one's draft card, or running to Canada, was not. Bernie was a conscientious objector.

Here's Trump's deferment papers-

Business man and an ex General............Nice combination to put Washington back in line.

Gingrich has the big weakness of being a globalist relatively weak on immigration, although he might work well in a Chief of Staff position. I think Flynn might be a plus in a number of ways. He probably will identify himself as a Democrat....but from the type of thirty years ago and not from the current group. This would attract a lot of older Democrats who are frustrated with the current platform. He could very well end up being VP because he has experience in the military leadership and even with the House and Senate, such tough leadership can and does work wonders. A General would have the skills to deal with DC. They deal with politicians all the time. Besides that, he’d get across-the-political-spectrum support. And I think from a foreign affairs level....he knows more than the entire team around Obama presently.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Flynn may be able to help military strategy but he is very opinionated to. Be a VP for Trump. Just because Gingrich married more than once does not mean he lost all his experience worked for media and before that he was GOP presidential candidate. Who else will be Trump''s right hand man? Hillary dues not have problem. Email problem or not, she will. Be elected..

Trump looks at retired general Flynn as possible running mate

I cannot think of any running mate, dead or alive, that will make any difference for Trumps chances in November.

Bass: As if draft dodging is as bad as being a liar by the FBI and a security risk to the nation.

Actually the Left does views both draft dodging and risking national security as equally good.

SuperLib: Trump fans couldn't care less about who these people are. They just like the way Trump legitimizes bigotry.

Yes, I do believe that Trump does support affirmative action.

I think our local group of Democrat party zealots on this board are, like the media, completely missing what is going on here. This is not the traditional ballgame of one party against another, this is the corrupt globalist establishment & deep state against against a broad segment of the population that has woken up and is against it. And this cuts across the typical party lines (except for the loyal holdouts, like here in the comment section...)

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Trump may be searching a person who adore Saddam instead of Flynn. Trump always change his first announcement.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

You're right, the democrats have woken up and are against the corrupt global establishment of Trump and the Republican party.

Reportedly he has all be settled on Mike Pence instead. Who was actually full throttle in support of the Iraq War. Can't stand the guy....maybe because he is also my governor. :(

Trump will have Hillary in chains helping build the new wall.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Trump's advocate are now spouting that Trump meant a "digital wall" a technological barrier. Good luck selling that as a plan to stop rapists and terrorists entering the country from Mexico.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Trump's advocate are now spouting that Trump meant a "digital wall" a technological barrier.

That clearly isn't what he meant or means, but there are some like Rick Perry that are saying that is the inevitable eventuality. Really hoping Flynn is still in the running even after flipping on abortion and forcing Trump to walk once more through that mess.

One day early but Sanders endorsed Clinton in New Jersey. She gave speech while Sanders standing left of her.
